As you can see from the links British footwear can be purchased for as little as £15. These moccasins are intended as slippers but I've worn them outside and been amazed at their durability. In fact I'm still on my first pair.

Cheap British made safety shoes can be had for under £25 pounds. At around £50 safety boots can be bought that will outlast most imported boots easily. From around £100 boots that can be re-soled, extending life, with the added bonus of preserving the comfortable upper that has formed over time to the wearers foot shape.

Most cheap imported footwear has to be replaced at far more regular intervals than British made. There are exceptions.
