We had a referendum to stay in the EU or out and the majority of the British have voted to leave the EU.
So my passport will have to change and now we can make our own laws and such.
I suspect closer ties to our commonwealth countries now.

"Brexit" is short for "British exit", and was obviously coined in imitation of the once notorious "Grexit".
Leaving the European Union.

Bottom line,

The UK is now independent or will be very soon, we will no longer have to put everything through the EU that then slaps absurd legislation onto it. We will be able to free ourselves from the clutch of the EU hands regarding trade with the rest of the world. We will regain our fishing grounds and the industry can fire up again (I feel terrible for the guys who burnt their boats). We can start to produce goods without the EU quota to worry about.

We will gain control of the borders and people will not be able to tie up cases where illegal immigration is involved using the EU courts that can take decades. No UK law or rules will be put in place by unelected EU crates who no one has any idea of who they are or what they represent.

The average person now has a identity, and there is a big message to the rest of the world that things can change all be it sometimes painfully and slowly.

We also learned that calling people "racist" "Nazis" "sexist" etc etc means bugger all and I am very proud that we got the vote even with the most absurd scaremongering I have ever seen.

It will also mean the end of the EU as I believe a number of countries esp those who have been "enriched" by mass migrant immigration now know they can have a say on their future. It just took a country with balls to start the procedure.

Do you need a map to know where Britain is, or just to know how the voting went?
In the first case, just get a map of Europe. Europe is an island just off the south-east British coast.
In the second case, the voting went "Remain" in London, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, and "Leave" in the rest of England and Wales.

Step aside everyone.

Allow a Canadian to explain it to a fellow Canadian in Canadian speak that only a Canadian can understand.

*clears throat*

*ahem*

"Brah... the Brexit thing means we can now buy more dark foamy beer from those crazy woolies across the pond because the white shirts in that other beer country, uh Belgium I think it's called, will no longer be able to control who the woolies can sell to, eh."

"It means more beer for us !"

And there you have it, eh.

Your welcome.

Oh and sorry if I had to explain it to you in such a harsh way, no offense meant.

Probably. Frankly, I could not have told you where the boundary ran in the Balkan area, and I did not know about Finland.

Funny, if a cow farts in Canada or the USA, whole europe knows about it, if we want or not!
And a thing like the Brexit, how can one not know what it is?
You have to burry yourself to not be bombarded with anti-Brexit propaganda since weeks and months, worldwide, as i thought.

I don´t watch TV too, it´s a monitor for my tizzbird media player. I don´t buy the newspapers anymore here, why should i pay to brainwash myself?
But i use the internet. And i am member of ATS. So it was impossible to avoid any news on the Brexit referendum, even trying not to surf any political pages.

Don´t get me wrong, i am not ranting!!!
It´s more like i am a bit jealous, i can do my best, but i can´t avoid any news, can´t switch of the reality for a while, doesn´t matter how hard i try. Sometimes i start playing a game in the morning, away from everything else like news and stuff, but then someone calls me: Did you hear... Or someone chats with me: Did you hear about...

No chance to avoid such things...

Beers ain't the only thing though... We have the same queen so what affects them hits us too!

Funny how so many Canadians don't realize that

We have an elected leader but he takes direction from the Queen

You have to understand that Canada is a very large country with huge swathes of forest everywhere.

Many of our peoples are still living in igloos and herd mooses for a living.
