Hi Q!

She's better today than recently. Last few days she has been improving slightly and now, after discussing with a friend, I'm beginning to wonder if the hair dye she has been using for years might be partly responsible for her brain problems. That stuff contains all kinds of toxic chemicals and who knows which of them might be able to seep through the skin and get into the body?

Fact is, it's been a few weeks since her hair was last retouched with dye and she is definitely better now than before that. And looking back, there was evidence of this factor even months ago, but I didn't recogize it at the time, nor did the specialist she goes to. So, we'll keep her away from the hair dye and see if she continues improving.

Wow, it is amazing you brought up hair dye. My sisters husband is a brain surgeon. He will not let my sister dye her hair because he said it soaks into the head. He would agree with you to have her stop dying her hair.

He even showed my why to use organic shampoo. Because the cheap shampoo has the same chemicals as laundry soap. He said would you wash your hair with Landry liquid soap. I said no. He said but you are. I went organic shampoo!

I am happy Dada is feeling better.

Others:

YES. (The band.) I met them after they did a concert in Adelaide (Oz) back in 1973. May 20th, i think it was. Very cool guys. Chris Squire (the bassist) gave me an autograph. Heaven knows what happened to it. But whatever, they were all very nice guys and pretty down to earth. No airs and graces about them.

Quantum: for really bad tooth pain (or related), a good treatment is to take 500-1000 mg of paracetamol for the pain, along with 500 mg of ibuprofen. The Ib. also has analgesic properties but it helps to relieve discomfort from inflammation. I used this combination when I had my bad wisdom tooth. Worked wonders.

Those who were discussing stick shifters versus automatics. Yes, it's a good idea to learn how to stick-shift. It's truly not that hard. And though I grew up driving RHD and LH stick shift, when I came to Europe and had to use LHD and RH stick shift, it only took me a few minutes to adjust.

Also consider that automatics drink more fuel. (On average, about 10 to 20% more.) The auto gearbox need far more regular maintenance than a manual, and driving an automatic, you wear out the car's brakes faster as well. So, if money's tight or you just care about how much oil you burn, get a manual transmission car.

Now, that's really something. So, your brother-in-law, who is a brain surgeon, warned his own wife not to use hair dye because of the toxic absorption risk. Just think about how many people use chemical-based hair dyes, often for years and years.

Then consider the rise in the number of cases of people with various kinds of dementia. And cancer. (Yes, hair dye is also statistically linked to some forms of cancer, though the actual causative link is not yet established, afaik.)

And shampoo. I hadn't even thought of that! Man... That's another risk. I reckon I'll be getting some organic shampoo.

Anyway, Dada needs some attention. She's been quietly letting me read here and post, but now she's showing signs of nervousness. Time to take her out for a walk. Catch you all later on.

Yes see you later, take care of Dada. My brother in law said only use organic shampoo. It costs I little more but it for your health.

My brother in law told me he cannot make claims legally about hair dye being bad but he told me your scalp absorbs toxins. So he will not let my sister dye her hair!

Mike. Interesting discussion of toxins in our shampoos etc. I hope Dada will continue to improve, after You stop the dyes and maybe move to an organic solution. I think of You two a lot and always wish You both, the best of good luck in all You do...

I remember that. It was bad all the way around. There was a lot of fighting over it.

I saw that you went to see Yes. I was 5 months old then lol. They had a lot of good bands back then, no not so much. Anywho, I noticed a lot of guys in bands are down to earth like that. I met Great White and they were like that. Jeff Keith from Tesla is really nice. A few others.
