Am I the only one who finds this a bit disturbing?
He took hostages, didn't hurt anyone, was shooting blanks and the German police tear gases everyone shoots the guy...
I am speechless. There surely would have been a better way to solve this than full forces.

German's don't have as much experience in these matters as Americans.

They do have GSG9 though who are one of the only foreign outfits whose members are allowed to join 22 reg (if they complete selection).

Proper a grade crw troops those blokes are.

This terrorist attack happened in Germany because germans do not bear arms and are therefore to be considered soft targets. Terrorist would have never dared to attack a place which is crowded by responsible armed militia citizens.
Unfortunately, it is precisely Germany which is unfit for a fight against terrorism due to its outdated military and policing policies, that mimic cold war standards of military deployments and tactics. For example the Leopard 2 tank which is unfit for any modern terrorist scenario, and it should rather change its name to tracked coffin in any situation involving small group of terrorists operating in independent cells!

Oh, I can assure you, they do. They're near the top of the list of anti-terror units.

Munich sorted that out.

How can this be? Germany has some of the strictest gun control laws in the world!

Maybe Germany needs more gun control laws?

My condolences to the victims,

My vitriol to the gun control nuts and criminals(they are probably one in the same).

Those evil guns strike again killing more people . Looks like they need stricter gun control .

The pc lamestream media will do the usual deflections in order for governments to strip away more rights from there citizens .

They already don't have any gun rights in Germany. This just shows that gun laws don't work because criminals don't follow the law.

Prayers to the families of those affected.

this just shows that those with gun rights in America, haven't taken out one mass murderer either, so what's your point....did any of the supposed hundreds of millions of guns owned by law-abiding citizens make a difference in any mass murders here?....no, so again what is your point?

Misguided how?

Owning a firearm is one thing but actually being allowed to defend yourself is another matter entirely.

Germans can own certain firearms but can not carry them in public for self defense.

Concealed carry permits are virtually impossible for german citizens to get.

Yes. Germany has very strict gun laws.

And the guy didn't use a gun to hurt anyone so all that agenda pushing nonsense has no point.
Sounds like someone wanted to hurt a lot of people in a country with some laws and he wasn't able to use a gun.

just a small note for those people who know jack sh1t about germany, the badder-meinhof gang and the irish republican army both murdered people in germany with illegal weapons (ak 47s., and other stuff),so they did not care too much about their victims or gun laws of germany.

It says two things:

1) The shooters pick a place where guns are not allowed and law-abiding citizens do not bring their guns, and/or the shooter chooses a place where gun owners are less likely to be located.

2) Law-abiding American gun owners are not chomping at the bit and looking for any and all opportunities to go back to the Old West, or a Dirty Harry movie... as is portrayed by the gun control crowd.

Six pages about a mass shooting that did not occur like this? The teenager only had a bobby gun and dummy grenades.
But probably this is only brainwashing from the media again...

Latest news in short:

The guy was a 19 year old german citizen.
Using a gas gun, a gas rifle and he had a fake grenade.

No news on the motive, speculations about 'suicide by cop'.

Trust me, someone will try to find the way to blame it on "American's right to own and bear arms and our Second Amendment."

Let's hope people trapped there can get out of there safe and sound.

Excuse me sir... Did you not know that "America" is not the only country that supplies weapons to other nations?...

There is a Chinese black market of firearms.
There is a Russian black market of firearms.
There is a French black market of firearms.
There is a North Korean black market of firearms.
etc,etc,etc,etc.
