Well, it seems like the Rio Olympics are getting off to a great start.

If is this is the state of forethinking and security we can expect from the host country the doomsayers were right.

Isn't Rio the murder, kidnapping and robbery capitol of the world?

NatGeo

I can't wait for the internet backlash and gorilla, alligator, jaguar ,secret weapon, mind control, conspiracy threads.

Things happen in threes they say...

The soldier fired a single shot, which killed Juma.

Yep ...

Gotta love a country where armed soldiers are running around locked and loaded.

We guarantee that there will be no more such incidents at Rio 2016.

Well it's good to know no other wild animals will be needlessly killed due to human ignorance, but, then again it is Brazil so I wouldn't take that statement as fact until the Olympics are over.

Honestly, screw the Rio Olympics.

Yes, let's all schlep down to a third world country with abject poverty, crime, corruption, violence, disease and environmental disaster - all in an effort to highlight superficial feats of human endeavor. What the actual #?

Oh ... is that a sneak preview of their opening ceremony? TPTB are getting a little blatant this year.

Is that a dead jaguar?

Smokes.

The world is an egregore people, we need to stop putting this twisted stuff out into the universe for it to come right back to us.

After the mess they made of the world cup I am stunned they still thought Rio was a good choice for the Olympics.

Since they banned the Russians at the track and filed and other sports whats the point of watching the games honestly?

“We made a mistake in permitting the Olympic torch, a symbol of peace and unity, to be exhibited alongside a chained wild animal"

At least they admit they are morons.

It's sad this animal was needlessly killed because they decided to parade it around in public for this event. Does anyone really give two *snips* about the Olympics anymore?

Well, it may be the cleanest Olympics now that Russian athletes will be banned on account of the corruption and drug taking.

We need to see what Brazil can do. People are writing it off, but it has not even begun.

Sad for the Jag.

Blame it on Rio is now not only a Movie but also a thread...

I suppose this is the edge of the cliff to start stereotyping and profiling that part of the world and citizens of that origin as an issue eh?

It's a failure of government if the place is in that much disaray as you say in the OP... from what I understand the Russians aren't even invited because of doping charges from the last. How about they just dope every body and have a good time...

Jungle cats belong in jungles not the urban sorts... mankind fails again.

Let's go foil hattery here for fun.

Does anyone think they maybe killed the Jaguar to draw attention away from the upcoming epidemic of Zika Virus that Rio is about to unleash on the world?
