Arrested man 'wanted to shoot Trump' at rally

First I've heard of it but a man who is believed to be British grabbed a policeman's gun on Saturday because he wanted to shoot Donald Trump.

A complaint filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Nevada charges Michael Steven Sandford with an act of violence on restricted grounds. It cites a report by Special Agent Swierkowski, whose first name was not included, saying Sandford told officers he drove from California to kill Trump and went to a Las Vegas gun range, the day before the Saturday rally, to learn to shoot.

Sandford later went to a Trump rally at the Treasure Island Casino and approached a Las Vegas police officer to say he wanted an autograph from Trump.
The report says Sandford was arrested after grabbing the handle of an officer's gun in an attempt to remove it.

He's British? I heard about this when it broke but there were no details other than him grabbing a cops gun, or trying to. How stupid is that? I figured he was mentally ill or disabled but now I've leaned he went to a gun range a day earlier to learn how to shoot. So his genius plan was to steal a cops gun and kill Trump?

He might be mentally disabled after all because how dumb.

whats odd, is that this is not odd for this presidential campaign.


if trump becomes president, i doubt he will be able to travel abroad... so this is just a preemptive attempt to keep him home.

i wonder, if he doesnt get elected, and no longer has secret service to protect him, how long he will last?

I don't know about what it is like in your state. but, there are Mexican gangs here in California that make the mafia look like a boy scout troop....initiation is shooting somebody random, if that person dies, this guy's rep takes a jump in respect.....

He's British... not mexican. and i live in OC... i know a thing or two about how the gang world works.
if a gang sent someone to do a random kill, and the gang was in england, and that hopeful decided to target trump, then he was simply suicidal, not a gang prospect... aka a one way trip.

I wish the headline had read: "Trump Survives Assassination Attempt"

It's a VERY close race over the draft dodging hippies of the 60s(looking at you Bill & Hillary) but I'm going to give the win for worst generation ever to millennials because they have brought Twitter into our culture...

If this was Bernie Sanders, people would be going stratospheric apes# calling for the guy's head (if not literally trying to remove it personally).

But with Trump's potential assassin, it's "Hey, I wonder what the guy is like". Total nonchalance.
