LOL yeah right. Oh the irony.

in case some of you folks didnt know, the term assault weapon was a fabricated term used by the left to push a ban on guns that looked scary.

you know like "overseas contingency plan" not a war

well actually that's not true.

the term assault rifle was first used for the very first one made. many people say hitler called it that, others say he just signed the order that had the word Sturmgewehr according to google translate and others (assault rifle), others say storm rifle. which was known by the names MP 43 and MP 44, which if you look at them you will understand where Kalashnikov got his idea from.

now some people want to say that Josh Sugarmann came up with the term assault weapon in 1988, but that is wrong.
the very first common usage of the term came from the first edition of the Guns Digest "Book Of The Assault Weapon" in 1985 or 86

i think this is the cover of the first edition

still even others say that gun manufacturers, and other gun magazines started calling semi auto versions that to increase sales when they became available to the public as early as the late 70's.

ETA: interesting sidenote the MP44/ Sig44 has a shoot around the corner attachment for it.

That did not really answer the question... What is a libertarian to you? Is it pro gun control or pro second amendment? (I want to know your point of view.)

Even a libertarian can have different sets of beliefs & philosophies.

I always thought a true libertarian would be pro second amendment. But that varies between folks it seems, not every libertarian believes in the same thing.

I am pro second amendment, though I dont like guns, but I support the right of people to have them for self defense especially against an invading enemy.

But that is my stance. What is yours?

Do you support this gun ban if it passes through the senate?

It's a rare event I get to thank someone for having a brain and a spine these days, but sir, I applaud you for both. God bless you and yours.

I firmly believe that if you're not willing to stand for anything you'll fall for everything.

I'm willing to fight my foes in discussions, at the ballot box, and on the battlefield. I have before and I am more than willing to again.

Ah the wise words of Katy Perry I see!

Who knew POP music held such ... wisdom?

A country artist, Aaron Tippin (sp?) has a song from the 90's title that. My Grandma always said it was old knowledge. Catchy tune.

I'm sure the goal was to attempt to discredit the saying by presenting it as a quote from a vapid pop star I don't know anything about.

TRUE...

...but it looks better when Ms. Perry says it

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
'Cause I am a champion and you're gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
'Cause I am a champion and you're gonna hear me roar

...

Now that the song is stuck in your head... you are most WELCOME!

As "sure" as you were, you were wrong. It's an actual quote from a pop star. Someone you described as vapid, despite knowing nothing about her? Petty.

What a lovely comment. Nice to judge 1000's of people you don't know and tarnish them with the same brush.
