I was just sitting here thinking of all the people who will be celebrating with their Fathers this Sunday and It hit me that my own Dad passed away 9 years ago. I can hardly believe it has been that long already.

I bought an Angel Dad, dressed in blue and holding a flower just for you. You live forever in my memories and in my heart. Oh how I miss you, your warmth and laughter and so many things. Holidays are the hardest, especially this one that we can no longer share the way we used to with a special dinner, gifts, cake, conversation and fun. So I shall honor you here with my tears of sorrow and missing you, and with my forever love that will always be yours. Happy Father's Day in heaven Dad!

Very sweet Night!

As usual, thinking of others!

I hope your day is filled with so much happiness that you've no time to be sad.

I lost my Dad 4 years ago. I went to his grave and "talked" to him. It was raining on the way there and I thought "Dad unless it stops raining I won't be able to stay long." As I pulled up to the cemetery the rain stopped. Random dumb luck.. probably but still pretty cool. Also the second time that has happened to me.

Thank you for this, my dad passed away 6 years ago come October. The pain never truly goes away but it has gotten easier to deal with as time has passed. Even 6 years later it's still hard to comprehend that he's gone, but I know he's in a better place and he is not suffering so that gives me comfort.

I feel the same! He also lived a very long and happy life. I knew there were others on the site that would join me in here and share their stories. Thanks!

A wonderful thread! I lost my dad less than a month ago.

Dear dad, you touched so many people in this world. You will never be forgotten. We all miss and love you.

Thank you for this thread Night.
Dad passed away twenty-six, too many years ago.
I wish I could sit down with him and listen to his stories. I wish I had listened more back then.
I wish I had known him better,
I wish I had asked those hard questions,
I wish I could cook him a lovely meal for Fathers Day, maybe take him fishing.

Thank you Night for this thread.

My Father has been gone for over 10 years now. When I am out on the lake he is always in the back of my mind. Whether he was telling me how to hold my fishing pole, or which lure to use in the area we were at, or how to handle the boat in what ever situation we were in.

I learned a'lot from him. He was a really cool guy.

I think he probably wanted a boy. But he ended up with a girl.

He made me the cool girl I am today.

Fish fear me. Guys want to be friends with me. Yea!!!!

Tight Lines boys.

wow Night Star.. thank you so much. I lost my Dad too 9 years ago. I feel the same, it's hard to believe it has been that long. Of course now I am crying, but it helps me remember all the fun times too. No more pain now, he was so brave through it all. Hugs to everyone on this thread.

That is a long time, but time doesn't matter, our love is still there. I'm sure he knows how you feel. Hugs!
