Russia has more rights to do what it with their ethnic groups unless you prefer these ethnic groups to be wiped out.

In their country yes...in other sovereign countries no they do not have that right.

And who is trying to wipe out ethnic Russians...nobody is that is another propaganda tool Putin used to invade his neighbors Ukraine and Georgia.

NATO, NATO...Greece is part of NATO but at odds with another member of NATO Turkey.

Just because they are both a member of NATO that doesn't mean they cannot disagree on issues...they are independent countries first members of NATO second.

Now Turkey wants to form coalition with Romania and Bulgaria to resolve its regional interests against Russia, or what?

And what is your point, as those countries are allowed to form whatever they want with their neighbors, and if they have problems with the same larger country then what is the problem?

Let not forget the Russian shot down jet, while Turkey was not at war with Russia at that time.

Seems you forget the fact that Russia had been warned before this event that if they violate Turkey airspace there would be consequences that Russia would be responsible for...Russia ignored the warning and we see what those consequences were.

If Russia knew they were in the right they would have acted in a different manner, but since we see how it ended Russia knew they were in the wrong.

Sure as long as pretend Russia did not attack Georgia twice or Ukraine. And as their is no NATO Black Sea fleet it is not hard not to join it.

Russia was protecting the citizens in south Ossetia which if i remember correctly back then in 2008 Georgia wanted south Ossetia back. Citizens in South Ossetia no longer trusted Georgians.

What Russia does in her backyard is none of our business, its funny seeing Obama today saying to the Saudis we dont want get involvement in the middle east while we already have. And made it worse.

Starting a war with Russia over Ukraine or Syria will not anyone anything good. No one right now in Europe wants another World War over the sphere of influence or put it this way.

No he wasnt protecting anyone.. That same lie has been used in Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and is a cover for Russian military occupation of a sovereign countries territory. Putin cant accept the fact Russia is not the USSR and is desperately trying to hold onto parts of the old USSR that cannot stand up to them.

That would be why the bulk of former SSR's joined NATO when the USSR failed. As a member of the KGB one would think putin would understand why it failed nut he apparently wants to keep running the same failed policies. The Russian people will be better off when Putin is forced out.

Totally agree!

However, in the real world, with sovereign states and the onward march of democracy and all that, the term "sphere of influence" is so Cold War.

The number of ex-Soviet vassal states that joined the EU and NATO demonstrates that the people of those nations would rather be aligned with the developed and liberal West.

It is only Russia that wants to keep a small number of residual nations under the jack boot. If Russia wants "influence" then it needs to learn that in the modern world belligerence is not what counts, it's what you bring to the table. If Russia really wants a "sphere of influence" then they need to stop acting like a spoilt bully.

It really is that simple.
