Russia is Orthodox. No Orthodox brother country would attack another.

Keep believing that.

Why you think joe biden son is in Ukraine for the gas company? its all about the interests.

You do know he is just running the legal department as he is a lawyer and he has no power when it comes to running that company...but of course you do because you have done your research correct?

Russia has only one interest and that's its connection to the past.

No that is just the interest of their president.

Even those who work for the government see what's happening...

Roman Kokorev, a senior researcher in the International Law Department of the Russian Federation government, goes still further. “The next step is Moldova and all Ukraine!!!” he writes on Facebook. He wants all the old territories of the Soviet Union back; he wants Russian military power, once again, to reign supreme. He wants the Baltics and Finland and Poland and “Alaska will be returned,” he writes, “because all these lands are Russian.”

And with the fact that most of the civilian population rely on state run media for news they don't get the whole truth...and those who want to move forward rather than back in Russia are either killed or jailed...big reason Putin doesn't have serious opposition to his presidency.

While Americans only care about Gas and Oil. Trust me if Ukraine had none of those things.

If they had all of this why would they need to look for Russia for their gas and oil?

You seem to want to keep using propaganda as your knowledge...seems you might want to get out from under that so you can actually learn something.

Here's a point. If Rwanda had Milk and Honey you would be seeing the same war mongers demanding action in Rwanda to save the innocents but since Rwanda had no "National interests" no F was given about Rwanda. On the news media.

They do have both...

Beekeepers and cattle grazers in Rwanda have negotiated their differences and forged an agreement that is resulting in regeneration of indigenous vegetation and improved honey production.

You just make these things up as you go don't you?

Honey and Milk aren't very news worthy so why would you expect to see it in the news media...and just so you know Rwanda was very much in the media because of the genocide happening there...some things are a bit more important to report on than others.

I could say the same about how you Americans are using it as a pretext to destroy the middle east while protecting the Jewish state.

Pretty sure the Jewish state can handle themselves...and please show where America said they were in the middle east to protect ethnic Americans living there?

I can show you where Russia used that excuse in not only Ukraine, but Georgia also.

Russia has more rights to do what it with their ethnic groups unless you prefer these ethnic groups to be wiped out.

In their country other sovereign countries no they do not have that right.

And who is trying to wipe out ethnic Russians...nobody is that is another propaganda tool Putin used to invade his neighbors Ukraine and Georgia.

Do you do any actual research?

NATO, NATO...Greece is part of NATO but at odds with another member of NATO Turkey.

Just because they are both a member of NATO that doesn't mean they cannot disagree on issues...they are independent countries first members of NATO second.

Now Turkey wants to form coalition with Romania and Bulgaria to resolve its regional interests against Russia, or what?

And what is your point, as those countries are allowed to form whatever they want with their neighbors, and if they have problems with the same larger country then what is the problem?

Let not forget the Russian shot down jet, while Turkey was not at war with Russia at that time.

Seems you forget the fact that Russia had been warned before this event that if they violate Turkey airspace there would be consequences that Russia would be responsible for...Russia ignored the warning and we see what those consequences were.

If Russia knew they were in the right they would have acted in a different manner, but since we see how it ended Russia knew they were in the wrong.

Good point. The borders in Eastern Europe have changed as fast as any over the centuries. Best to stay out of it unless directly threatened...

Sure as long as pretend Russia did not attack Georgia twice or Ukraine. And as their is no NATO Black Sea fleet it is not hard not to join it.

Russia was protecting the citizens in south Ossetia which if i remember correctly back then in 2008 Georgia wanted south Ossetia back. Citizens in South Ossetia no longer trusted Georgians.

Remember the tie eating? that was hilarious.

BBC made no mention why
Saakashvili tried to eat his tie i guess Saakashvili whose now the Governor of Ukraine's Odessa Oblast. Whats a Georgian meddling in the affairs of Ukraine? because they are brothers maybe? or because the tie eater was given a second chance to fix his mistake 8 years ago?

What Russia does in her backyard is none of our business, its funny seeing Obama today saying to the Saudis we dont want get involvement in the middle east while we already have. And made it worse.

Starting a war with Russia over Ukraine or Syria will not anyone anything good. No one right now in Europe wants another World War over the sphere of influence or put it this way.

"My thing in the bottom is bigger then yours"

Have a nice weekend sir.

No he wasnt protecting anyone.. That same lie has been used in Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and is a cover for Russian military occupation of a sovereign countries territory. Putin cant accept the fact Russia is not the USSR and is desperately trying to hold onto parts of the old USSR that cannot stand up to them.

That would be why the bulk of former SSR's joined NATO when the USSR failed. As a member of the KGB one would think putin would understand why it failed nut he apparently wants to keep running the same failed policies. The Russian people will be better off when Putin is forced out.

Totally agree!

However, in the real world, with sovereign states and the onward march of democracy and all that, the term "sphere of influence" is so Cold War.

The number of ex-Soviet vassal states that joined the EU and NATO demonstrates that the people of those nations would rather be aligned with the developed and liberal West.

It is only Russia that wants to keep a small number of residual nations under the jack boot. If Russia wants "influence" then it needs to learn that in the modern world belligerence is not what counts, it's what you bring to the table. If Russia really wants a "sphere of influence" then they need to stop acting like a spoilt bully.

It really is that simple.
