Why do you keep ignoring the fact that Libya was a UN operation, not a NATO one? As a member of the security council Russia could have prevented any operations with a simple No vote. Instead they abstained. If Russia is so great, why didn't they use their power to prevent Libya from happening?

Got tons of ammunition agaisnt your little so called UN fact. The UN Authorized the protocol only to defend civilians from the alleged air strikes. The UN article never Authorized NATO nor Americans the right to be Libyan Rebels Air Force.

Now please do me a favor go back to that UN Article and try to find me where it says that America and NATO forces can operate as an Air force unit to protect the rebel forces.

The UN Article clearer stated, "to protect civilians" it seems America and NATO went far behind the UN protocol and turned it into a successful regime change didn't it.

If it was a UN operation why are so many calling it a NATO success then ?

Brookings defending Libya well of course they supported the intervention and pushed for it.

Everyone says the Libya intervention was a failure. They’re wrong.

Libya was a complete failure on NATO's part not UN. Now Libya's faces another collapse.

Every country in the world including the U.S. should mind their own damn business! Let countries defend themselves! If the United Nations was truly created to defend any kind of aggression from an invading country, the U.S. wouldn't have any need to police the world. Every country should have a contractual agreement to defend any country being invaded. No matter what system of government they have. Every country should be responsible foe sending a percentage of their troops to help defend and squelch any type of aggression or invasion of a country's homeland. There should be major and grave consequences for any country planning an attack on a sovereign nation.

I'm not entirely sure why you're under the impression that I support every action the US takes. Pretty much every action they've taken in the Middle East over the past 20-30 years I've seen as folly. That said they are not the only ones responsible for the current immigration crisis.

For example, if Assad hadn't started barrel bombing his own citizens the current Syria situation would be much different. Since you seem to like history, if Russia didn't take their fatal foray into Afghanistan things would be very different there as well.

The current events in the Middle East are tied to events that occurred way before the US ever stepped foot there. Have they helped the situation? No. But to try to pin all the blame on them is disingenuous at best.

Hmmmmm does that mean your Russian since you seem to ignore all the lies Putin has been caught in?? And we'll ignore the fact he is corrupt and stolen money from the Russian people? Putins only concern is to maintain power and fill his bank account even his actions in syria. See pu tin has to play the tough guy if he's seen as weak he wouldn't be in power long that's the case with most dictators.Thats what this threat is about saver rattling many countries do it like NK.

He also needs a scape goat when his policies fail that would be the US. See reality is Russia is of little concern to Washington. This is why Obama called them a regional power. Honestly to Amaricans and it's leaders there is no concern with Russia they are destroying themselves and once again will be asking for aid. Putin made a lot of promises he just can't keep and eventually it will come back to haunt him.

As far as Amaricans believING the government sorry if that's what you have been led to believe but very few people trust politicians and they don't get the blind faith afforded to Putin by Russians.

No no it was Putin. Remember technically Putin could not stay as President for more than two terms so he put his PM in the position and he took the PM job but, everybody knows Putin was still running the show. Then after one term out Putin was back in but he was always running the show and with and extra two years now per a term. So he could stay in office until 2024. And the UN resolution says

authorizes all necessary means to protect civilians and civilian-populated areas, except for a "foreign occupation force

That clears the way for anything other than occupation.

And that's if you ignore the fact that Putin said term limits don't apply to him. But he's not a dictator.

By all means American if Ukraine wants to join the collapsing EU union and wants to be another Greece thats great. Knowing that they cant afford pay back the Russians how are they able to cope the debt? asking and begging the IMFs for more bailouts? like Greece has?

The Chinese are pouring money into Ukraine, including joint defense deals. China sees Ukraine as its cargo and transport link for its new trade routes with Europe that go south and no longer pass through Russia. So I am sure the between China, the US and the EU Ukraine is going be in much better economic shape than Russia a decade from now.

Entrance into NATO is strictly voluntary. Even then admittance isn't guaranteed. Ukraine and Georgia were both denied. For most countries it takes many years of reforms to actually become a member. On the other hand Russia has gained territory at the barrel of a gun. So in this case Putin is clearly the aggressor.

NATO was dying countries were considering how useful they were. But then Putin gave them a purpose makes you wonder if they paid him. He's been the best thing for NATO scaring his neighbors into joining and reminding others why they want to stay. NATO will probably send him a Christmas card and a big thank you note.
