For those defending Tartars enjoy reading the following.

During the first few months of their occupation of Crimea, starting in November1941, the German occupiers initiated the publication of a number of newspapers andmagazines in the peninsula’s towns. These included the newspapers Deutsche Krim Zeitung (Simferopol), Golos Kryma (Simferopol), Feodosiyksiy Vestnik (Feodosiia), Zemledelets Tavridy (Simferopol), Yuzhnyi Krym (Yalta), and Vestnik Kerchi (Kerch),as well as a magazine, Sovremennik (Simferopol). With the exception of the first title, which was published in German, all these publications were directed at the province’sethnic Russians and Russian-speaking inhabitants, who were, according to the 1939census, the most numerous national group. The second-largest ethnic group consistedof 218,179 Crimean Tatars, constituting 19.4 percent of the population. 3 The Crimean Tatars prior to World War II were the product of the mixt

My friend, the past is the past.

We shouldn't be seeking revenge for ancient actions.

So why did Stalin deport the Turk Tartars?

1.Ottoman Empire era as they assisted Ottoman empire with Slave labor.
2.WW2 Tartars sided with the fascists and do read the link.

Funny for group of people still dreaming the return of the ottoman empire. And who only care about spreading Sunni branch of Islam.

If thats you defend enjoy your new Europe.

Absolutely.

Why people insist on using what happened 70 years (and even older), ago as a reference for today, baffles me.

Yes, I understand, if you ignore history, you are doomed to repeat it. But, the world is a different place now, and the players, even in the event of another fascist rising, would be different. You take the lessons from the past, in regards to the ideologies and how they came into power, not so much the actual players involved.

Heck, Germany and Japan are some of the best 'Western' nations now.

Trying to retake history only leads up to historical blunders.

History tells us we should fight then drink together, because after the fight we will both stand up. That is our human nature.

Our countries are telling us to fight each other because words and stuff.

We probably agree on a lot of things, but youlike Russia so we will just disagree,

It sucks, but it is what the world is today.

Здравствуйте

Why?

Well, because, there's no way in hell you can understand what's happening today, if you don't know the past. That's just how it is.

You're talking as if both of these are occurring in a completely neutral environment. Although I am an extremely harsh critic of US foreign policy (and don't even get me started on the ME), it's not like the other side is sitting all innocent and blameless. Both sides, in both examples, have shown a fairly continuous and consistent belligerence to one another for most of the very recent past.

In an ideological sense, yes. In the sense that because country A was on the other team 70 years ago, they must be on the other team today...not so much.

Save that line for someone else. Because judging from here it doesn't look like your a harsh critic. Majority of you Americans dont know the history of Ukraine let alone where to find Crimea just like Iraq.

Look at Europe whose to blame for the rise of the migrants RUSSIA? PUTIN? noo noo America's and NATO foreign policy thats whose fault is it. Russia never wants to attack Europe.

But if NATO is stupid enough on trying to poke the bear even further Russia will defend itself. And like Germans Americans have never learned anything from history let alone Iraq or Libya.

What would you expect? For them to support the man that starved millions of their people? Ukraine was in a hard position when it came to World War 2. Side with one genocidal maniac or side with another genocidal maniac. They decided to side with the genocidal maniac that didn't commit genocide against them. Can you really fault then for that?

On topic, how is the US positioning ships in the Black Sea any different than Russia positioning ships off the coast of the UK or Sweden? Or having jets look like they're going to invade those countries airspace only to veer away at the last second? At least the US has a multitude of reasons to be in the Black Sea. Russia can't say the same when they're clearly trying to antagonize other nations.

Funny knowing that America is bullying the Chinese in the south china seas. And stated to them that they would there forever.

Thankfully America wont exist forever.

the US has a multitude of reasons to be in the Black Sea

Here are a few reasons.

1.Oil.
2.Making Sure Turkey is an Ottoman empire again.
3.Russians are dead.

4.Further military expansion of eastern Europe under the shred of sword.

Russia, novadays, is maffia ruled, neostalinist and more and more faschist wannabe imperium.

So America is not Mafia ruled? with an alleged democratic society that uses super delegates. And are using the military to overthrow govs they dont like.

Oh, if You do not like word "mafia", then lets use a word dictatorship, but former KGB mafia IMHO is better term.

Russis tactics are say opposite what they do - they provoke incidents (like violating airspace) and then say, the others are do blame. They bringing more troops to the border and if NATO starts responding, they accusing escalations. And so on, they whining constantly and this is mostly because they need domestic propaganda, but some people at west is also affected.
