Wow, good list! One different thought I had on clue number 2 was:

2. Traveling Wilburys can be a 'mixer'.

11. In the USA, this is one of the links I see when I search for 'Eagle fry'

Not sure if the same thing would show up for Aussies but really, at this point I would just be calling in that game show as many times as possible, lol. See what they say and take it from there. That prize... o-m-g.

After my previous comment/guess I kept on (and will keep on) searching. Here are some thoughts I have:

One theme in most of the clues list could possibly be 'lock'. Most likely one with numbers (keno clue and no key clue).

2 Clues point to navigating and/or a pilot: obviously 'cheers to the great navigator' and maybe, more surprisingly, part of 'fry like an eagle'.

I searched for Eagle synonyms and both navigator and pilot popped up.

Now, the big trick is: how to combine the words 'lock' - 'navigator' / 'pilot' in an everyday item that almost everyone knows??? Heh

Hi scubagravy, hi everyone!

Ok, so I have a guess, it's probably wrong. At 2am I was certain this was it, but today, I'm pretty sure it's wrong.
but maybe someone could tweek it...

So, according to the clues,
the lock theme seems to fit.
but a lock being locked or unlocked has already been guessed.

So, I was thinking, if you have no key, you're not going to be unlocking or locking, but you would locked out.

and the clues seem to suggest that something is locked,
not being locked or unlocked.

So, could it be the sound of a door handle or knob
when attempting to open, jiggling the handle or door knob, of something that is locked, locked door, or cabinet, etc.

I listened to some sound bites of attempting to open locked door, jiggling a handle or knob that is locked, and some of them sounded very close,
so maybe it needs to be more specific, like a particular car door handle, etc.
Or, maybe the Flinders station lockers!

Looking at the clues, this locked theme seems to fit most of them:
1. Wedding = joined together = locked
2. Traveling Wilburys = locksmith story
3. Keno - no key backwards, =if you have no key, you are locked out
4. You don't have to be a master thief
5. 2 become 1 = joined = locked
6. Double action - Double action lock
7. Before Use = you need to unlock before use, so it's already locked
8. Cheers to the great navigator
9. Start or Finish = could be locked before you start, then locked when finished
10. No Key - if you have no key, you are locked out
So you jiggle the handle!

Heres one foom you tube.

i love your attempt, but the 2 main clues are still amiss........ master thief and the cheers to the great navigator.

couldnt get through again this morning, had to listen to crap repeating guesses that it seems that most who ring are not even taking the clues into account just vommiting guesses from nothing.

Meanwhile myself and my friends here at ATS are thinkers, looking at all aspects of the clues.

Someone even said putting a VHS tape in to a player............ only been said like 84 times...... just ping off and let me get through lol

Could it be opening/closing an oven door or (un)locking the latch of the oven door?

Found a sound on Soundsnap it is the oven door opening and closing sound. Number 5, 6, 7.

1. Wedding: cake
2. Traveling Wilburys: she 's got her pudding in the oven (she's my baby lyrics)
3. Keno: Poker, an oven accessory
4. You don't have to be a master thief: piece of cake
5. 2 become 1
6. Double action: open/close - lock/unlock
7. Before Use
8. Cheers to the great navigator
9. Start or Finish
10. No Key
11. Fry like an eagle: Oven (Eagle brand)
12. Fire door: Oven door

Anything yet?

I'm out of ideas but, I hope someone can figure it out.

It has to be so obvious, IMO, that it is being overlooked.

Someone could do a lot of good with that amount of money, for themselves OR others.

4. you don't have to be a master thief- anyone can rob a cash register, do not need to be a safe cracker
8. Cheers to the great navigator- Magellan - it's also a brand of electronic grocery store scanner and scale that connects to cash register at checkout.

So , yes, sound is that of opening and closing the cash drawer on a cash register
