No, not a safe. A cash box with a combination lock instead of a key. Either the opening sound or if you really want to go crazy, set down a cash box on wood

Mind you, if they record the sound themselves we won't find the exact same sound on the net. Also we don't know the circumstances of their recording environment. Kitchen vs sound studio recording will sound different.

See!

I was thinking Bob Dylan was the link for some reason..then I thought no.

It's Roy Orbison!

Couldn't make a link strong enough!

Mania!

8. Cheers to the great navigator: Captain James Cook (Ship was named "Endeavour")

Albany Endeavour Sliding Door Lock
Twin locking for added security. (Double Action)
No key on the inside..

My guess for the day... Was probably already guessed.
Funny thing is my dad's lazy boy chair kind of has the same sound!

K92 is the name of a radio station in Roanoke, VA

Yup, WV. I used to be able to get K92 and remember the secret sound or maybe it was another one...around here.

Damn.... still could not get through, todays guesses were, phone cradle, sliding a battery into a torch, releasing a truckie ratchet tie-down.

People are not even using the clues it seems, just guessing willie nillie.

I wonder how many are trying as hard as we are ?

I think folks are guessing out of desperation now!

I would think that there are some who are trying very hard. I am completely out of ideas myself.

I hope whoever wins can use the money (you know has a genuine need) or donates it.

Perhaps we/everyone else is over thinking it at this point and when the answer is revealed we'll be kicking ourselves at its obviousness.

*I suppose one could just clear their minds of all of the previous guesses, so back to the initial recording, write the clues on a piece of paper and start again, fresh.

Oh boy have i done that, my desk is covered with paper and guesses and clues lol.

I could tell it was getting to everyone as well as me due to the lack of replies, its understandable.

I can tell you, our family deserve it. And even if we didnt, and we did win, it would work out to 10 bux an hour of effort put into it
Thats a pretty good rate of pay, and a rate of gray hehe.

NO, except I read that they used to use homing pigeons/white doves somehow (China) to receive and send the play slips?

WIKI reference likely...

Got you a few more folks on this end to work on it tonight.

Can't sleep anyway, might as well make use of the time!

*Don't some folks release white doves at weddings?
