It is a shame indeed. The giant has gone back to sleep and has been perpetually drugged, through a combination of poor education and distraction.

Even if it were to awaken once more, it would stumble about as there is no longer a clear purpose for it to achieve. It's body has been infected by the parasitic growths of a gluttonous federal bureaucracy and associated hangers on.

The FBI was investigating this orlando event shooter as a terrorist. The FBI would have access to all of his data.(bank,credit cards, cell phone, and any BACKGROUND CHECK info provided to purchase a gun) All government agencies are supposed to work together on this as a result of the patriot act. The FBI failed to stop this guy. Because of the FBI failing to do their job the dems want to change gun laws?

Why not pass a law to make the FBI do their job better?

It is an inalienable right not given to us by the government.

We better be careful. People fought and died for the kinds of freedoms and rights we have, and we have people with no loyalty to anybody or anything but their own self-interests and their greed for power trying to mess with our 2A under the auspices of public safety or national security. Please pull back the layers and look at this issue very very closely.

Or people who by cold meds.

Or people who adopt dogs or kids.

Or people who get hunting and fishing licenses.

And it seems like It's okay to turn women into or make them feel like criminals for domain over their own bodies but when it comes to guns...oh man...no way...step off?

Sorry dude, but I think that you and those who think like you exaggerate. A lot. And make this whole dialog and any progress we could make to maybe save a few thousand lives difficult.

Part of the narrative was that he was on the watch lists but they found nothing so they took him off.

Think about the (at least) two ways this doesn't gel...both as a story from them and as opposition to the law about being on the list (as in how terribly hard it is to get off). Mmmhmm.

Begin with the second.

Then the rest up to the 10th.,

End with the 14th.

I know some people can't read the second.

This entire debate is ridiculous. Have we been at it for so long that we've forgotten that we're at war! So a citizen of the US defects to ISIS and attacks his own countrymen, like the traitor he is, and the response is to make more gun control laws?

That is literally insane. If an American sided with the Nazis during WWII and shot up a bar, would we have tried to tighten gun laws on our soil back then as well? How is nobody remembering we are at war?

People really don't see the seriousness of this unfortunately. One of Obama's cabinet members ( I can't remember which one. I think it may have been Jeh Johnson) said something to the effect that the way the Supreme Court has interpreted the second amendment heretofore has allowed for individual gun ownership. In the future, a different makeup of Supreme Court justices could wipe out everything we have ever believed regarding the 2A. Nine people could decide the entire fate of our country in one ruling!

Appointment of Supreme Court justices is one of the most important things a president does during his term. Antonin Scalia's strict adherence to our Constitution as it is written was a safeguard. Unfortunately, he met with an untimely demise in recent months just before the dung is about to hit the fan over this issue. How convenient!!
