www.huffingtonpost.com...

This is a link that will allow you to watch. They are doing it. Trying to stay there until something is done.

Led by the senators who represent Newtown, Connecticut — where a gunman fatally shot 26 people, including 20 children, in 2012 — Democrats took control of the Senate floor Wednesday and vowed to keep talking until lawmakers start doing something about gun violence. “Newtown is still putting itself back together, probably will be for a long time,” said Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who launched the filibuster-style takeover, declaring it was time for the Senate to do something about gun violence beyond the usual ineffective debates. He said lawmakers could not go about business as usual after a mass killing at a gay club in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday claimed 49 victims. “This is a different moment today than it was at the end of last week,” Murphy said. “There is a newfound imperative for this body to find a way to come together and take action, to try to do our part to stem this epidemic of gun violence and in particular this epidemic of mass shootings.” “There is a fundamental disconnect with the American people when these tragedies continue to occur and we just move forward with business as usual,” he continued. “So I’m going to remain on this floor until we get some signal, some sign that we can come together on these two measures, that we can get a path forward on addressing this epidemic in a meaningful bipartisan way.”

It is very interesting if you would like to listen to how your government wants to take away your guns.

And I like yesterday how a few disrupted a moment of silence for the victims and walked out to make a statement about guns. Talk about being disrespectful.

Wonder if they'll adress the 1500+ people shot in Chicago this year?

I already know the answer...

Remember back when the liberals thought Rand Paul was an "ATS Edit" for filibustering?

Yeah, me too, that was good times

It's about time for another government shut-down.

This demonstrates far more motive to kill a mass of people than "two men kissing," IMO.

They need to pass laws that make it illegal to kill people.

Much in the SAME way the GOP held the entire country HOSTAGE not only ONCE but SEVERAL times over the national budget? Anyone remember those times? The shutdowns AND furloughs?

Hm.

Good for the goose, but not the gander I guess?

Which is exactly what you just did.

I am registered 'Unaffiliated' but have voted democrat most of my life.

Personally, I am sick & tired of the partisan finger-pointing to deflect from important facts and issues. I have had it up to HERE ^ with being held hostage by partisans who mostly just hate 'the other party' and stand for nothing.

There's a big difference between debt & deficit. Most experts say to watch the deficit.
