I agree, every mass shooting has taken place in one of the 'Designated Victim Zones'.

If you're a mass shooter intent on killing as many as you can, why would you want to go where you might be shot dead before killing even one innocent person?

Wait, you're advocating to restrict the rights of private property owners to decide what is and isn't acceptable on their premises?

Not that I don't think gun free zones that have nothing but a sign on a wall for security aren't stupid.
