Protecting yourself and others is one thing but if you fail at that job then Trump wants you to suffer the consquences.

You see no problem with this?

This man is a moron. There is a crime called aiding and abeiting BUT Trump wants to take it to a whole new level where the authorities can charge you with a crime now if somehow they determine if you suspected enough to assume a danger but didn't somehow think to call the cops.

And on the cops side, now they have A LOT more investigating to do because many people will be reporting left and right either out of fear of imprisonment or they enjoy ratting people out whether innocent or not (usually innocent).

This entire thing is dumb and I expected no less from the mouth of Trump. He's clearly a fascist.

Define for me, if you will, just what constitutes "suspicious"?

More importantly... Who decides what constitutes "suspicious"?

I'll wait.

The whole how should I say this vibe I got from that speech was....

"American's Good, Foreigners bad..."

And that personally struck an Animal Farm Cord with me instead of an 1984...

That. Is. Insane.

She saw a bunch of packages and they worked a lot in the garage, and she was supposed to report that to Homeland Security?

Holy Crap. Can you imagine how many innocent people would have their lives invaded and their property (computers) hauled off as evidence?

The movie Brazil is sounding prophetic. :

"See something, say something" doesn't include being punished for failing to say something...

This?

This is a little to dictator-ish for my tastes.

Animal Farm, eh?

Talk about lesser of two evils...

I'd just as soon neither, thanks.

But, in this particular case, they are simply reporting what he ACTUALLY said. No spin needed.

The title of this Op, or article is not what he said at all.

This is like the 7th thread in a day where the title is not
accurate at all. What he said was ....

We need to know what the killer discussed with his relatives, parents, friends and associates.

We need to know if he was affiliated with any radical Mosques or radical activists and what, if any, is their immigration status.

We need to know if he travelled anywhere, and who he travelled with.

We need to make sure every single last person involved in this plan – including anyone who knew something but didn't tell us – is brought to justice.

I guess it is better than the alternative he has planned for the families.

You know what's ironic here? The authorities knew this man was a threat. They even interviewed him and did nothing to stop him. Yet, Trump is calling for people to be brought to justice, like his boss and co workers, but do I hear him critizing the authrorities who let this man slip through their fingers?

If I don't report Hassan, and he blows himself up at the local metra-train station, I SHOULD be officially punished! (I'll also be mentally self-punished, but that goes without saying.)

No you shouldn't. The only way you can be punished is if you knew he would carry that out.

You guys all know, and realize ...

This is exactly what terrorists want, right? To disrupt our ways of life? Make us live in fear and distrust our neighbors?

Yeah, that's their goal. Crap like this.

When we cow-tow to them by allowing this garbage, the terrorists are winning.

Don't be a looser. Be a winner.

Don't let terrorists scare you into changing America into a police state. It won't make us really any safer in the end. We'll only loose more and more freedoms.

I would totally agree.

That is from The Department of Homeland Security.

If my Muslim neighbor Hassan starts receiving a lot of UPS deliveries, and doesn't want to talk about it, I will report him as "suspicious" to the local police, and let them take it from there.

If I don't report Hassan, and he blows himself up at the local metra-train station, I SHOULD be officially punished! (I'll also be mentally self-punished, but that goes without saying.)

If someone is STUPID enough to admit that they suspected something, AFTER 15, 50, 200, people are killed, they should also have a "Stupid Person" punishment added on to the "Indirectly Aiding Terrorism" fine, or jail-time, or whatever.

Personally, I think most of the people who say that they suspected something, are merely looking for their 10 seconds of fame when the microphone is stuck in their face. But as with anything major in the way of legislation, Congress must approve whatever President Trump proposes.

I suspect you are a terrorist or at least harbouring them.....I think the authorities should pay you a visit.....

Yellow Stars of David shall be handed out.

Is he an idiot?

Yes. He is an idiot. He is a dangerous idiot because he convinces many people to agree with him.

Well up until I saw his speech today, and the press comments from Hillary and Obama I was die hard Ron white Protest Vote, But Hillary's tongue biting admitting it was Terrorism but also coupling it with Hate Crime (Double Speech) While Trump flat out called a spade a spade. Well it swung me for now, who knows maybe Trump will piss me off again before November and I fall back to Ron White. But so far of the Two Trump looked acted and sounded more Presidential.

Does that come with Justice as a consquence if you fail to report what you see?

The answer is no.

It's obvious to everyone that suspicious people get reported to police and a great example of that was recently in LA where a man with a load of guns and possible explosives was stopped by cops. Who knows if he had nefarious plans but the point is people always will report what they feel needs reporting.

Neighbors seeing a bunch of packages arrive at someones house is just modern day. Hell, I think my mother is addicted to online shopping and if Trump were her neighbor she'd be on a watch list, possibly even raided by now.

Which is truly terrifying... Or should be.

I'd sooner not vote, than vote for either of those two. Thankfully there are alternatives. No, they won't, the alternatives, win, but if enough of us vote for another third party, and it doesn't matter which one, then notice will have to be taken.

Then let's see what happens.

Suspiciousness is like porn.
You know it when you see it.

Good news, no one is gonna punish you because your Muslim neighbor shops too much on Amazon.

I bet you don't even have a Muslim neighbor.
