Whether or not you or I agree with President Obama — and I think he missed the mark as this cowardly, homicidal scum would have passed a background check by all indications — his politicizing of the massacre is positively respectful next to Donald Trump's:

The Daily Beast - Donald Trump Makes Worst Mass Shooting In U.S. History All About Him

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don't want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart! 12:43 PM - 12 Jun 2016

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
Is President Obama going to finally mention the words radical Islamic terrorism? If he doesn't he should immediately resign in disgrace!
1:58 PM - 12 Jun 2016

What is he to be congratulated for exactly? What is this "toughness" and "vigilance" he's talking about? For that matter, what kind of asshole would even think to say that he "[appreciates] the congrats for being right" in the immediate aftermath of a terrorist attack?

The kind of asshole that had already tweeted a couple of first reactions to it and was subsequently addressing someone that responded to one of those tweets by saying to Trump "Congratulations for being right on Islamic terrorism."

I'm no Trump supporter, but I can read that Trump wrote he doesn't want congratulations - right there in the tweet.

What kind of asshole takes some viral media meme and runs with it without even checking?

Did you fall for Romney having murdered an ex-employee's wife too?

Harte

Yes I saw that too - Trump quite clearly said that he does not want congratulations. Having said that he must know that the media will take a snip from his tweet and make the story about that instead of the intent. Not very clever on his part. Overall I think he has handled this ok, but not great. He's allowed an attack line which has opened the door for Clinton and her media to change reality into a mentally ill person with no ties to ISIS committing the crime. Quite impressive spin by them - I wonder will Americans fall for it?

I agree, if you define "clever" as political savvy.
On the other hand, if he was politically correct, he wouldn't be where he is now, so...
Have you looked at his twitter? He was clearly responding to a tweet in the responses to his previous one.
Maybe he doesn't know how to do that - I know I don't - is there a way to directly respond without creating a whole new tweet response thread or whatever they call it?

I'm twitter-ignorant.

What disgusting slander by the liberals. Them being more outraged at Trump than the shooter is what is most offensive. Terrorism is by definition political. Yet Obama and the Clintons continue to sell arms to, receive donations from and buddy up with the countries that teach the kind of homophobia that led to that monster to do the shooting.

Politicians will leverage any event for political gain. It doesn't matter how severe the event, it's just the nature of politics. I don't like trump either, but this is just expected behavior. They all do it.

Also, USA has been buddies with countries promoting homophobia since even before Bush Sr. Nothing ever changes.

This is a fight we can never win with bombs.

BS, We can win any fight if we commit to it! The answer is simple let ours dog off the damned chain, how do you deal with an enemy who isn't afraid to die??? The same way you do the others! KILL them, keep killing them, then kill them some more! Leave no one standing!

being non american, i wanna comment about the country that was the dream land for millions at the time of the end of Cold War.

Critisized a lot, Clinton Bill maintained the dream, at least for those who were not inside US.

Then came Bush Jr. War on terror. The world changed. The promised paradize garden in 2000 (by pope and politicians) never came to reality. Slowly but surely the developped world sank into the nightmare of 3rd world countries, or post-socialist ruined economies.

Now, after 8 years unsuccessful battle of Obama, (more and harsher words could be said) the world is offered as the next US president a person who differs little from Ronald Reagan, and the difference is not in his favor. Who cares of the strange words as pronounced by wannabe president? There is a real danger he surpasses Bush and Reagan.

The world could have had by now free energy, and medicines that cure cancer. What more to wait for? The benevolence of oil companies and the like? If Trump will do it, let vote for him. We live once, and I see no interest whatsoever to pump into someone's campaign, be he US or German, if he or she does not give what we need in our lives. Let alone for the generations to come.

The issue of the immigrants although major one, is not the single issue. Soon we all will be immigrants in our own countries, unemployed, some homeless, many without medical coverage. Radical changes are needed, not politicizing. Not that Obama did it, though. But the frenziness with which conspiracy sites embrace Trump, is terrifying. What will he do tomorrow in exchange of that uncovered support?

Actually the american voters are NOT FALLING FOR IT.
What scares the liberals, the press, and the rino republican leadership is that the american voter (as indicated by the FACT THEIR TACTICS ARE NOT HURTING TRUMP) is not just swallowing/accepting/believing whatever those three groups say/publish/social media/ect.

In short the voters are rising up and VOTING THE WAY THEY WANT not what the three groups stated want or what PC demands.

This is the open secret of trumps success .

But all they can do is double down and make their lies (and the OP ) more and more see thu, blatant, silly and outright lies.
