There ARE NO LOOPHOLES.

The Orlando Shooter bought his weapons LEGALLY.

Passed the background check and all for them, and to get his job.

There is NO screen for what a person is going to do.

And well it's not a crime until they DO IT.

So please enough of that nonsense.

It honestly sounds like there were a bunch of cracks that created a perfect storm for this to happen. In 2014 he was on the watch list but somehow managed to renew his security and armed security licenses without any flags going to the FBI and so the renewals went through and weren't up again until next year.

My frustration is mostly towards any time that someone tries to fill one of these cracks in the NRA goes apesh*t and it all devolves into a useless shouting match that cools just in time for the next mass shooting to start the insanity all over again.

Yes.
An estimated 320 people were present when he walked in and started shooting.
He was alone, according to the official story.
One man can only shoot in on direction at a time with a rifle.
He had to change magazines.

So, the ON-TOPIC part of my post was removed along with the off-topic part.

The ON-TOPIC part was, again: This was at closing time, with people who were likely confused, scared, and buzzed, during all this chaos of a person shooting up the place, so I'm sure most of them were scared #less and not concerned with being a hero and "taking down" the shooter.

I've been saying this since my initial posts.

We finally agree on...something.

Most were scared #less, I imagine.

You are absolutely correct.

The goddess of luck smiles on the man of action.

Being scared shirtless doesn't increase life expectancy in those situations.

It is easy to say things like that from behind the safety of a keyboard. For me I'm not going to question how anyone acted in the club setting because I wasn't there.

Glad to see some sense in the thread.

Let's do what ATS does best and dig a bit to see what can be found. All this bickering has me wondering if it was worth my time to wade through all 76 pages of this thread, but persevere I did on the odd chance any interesting information made it in.

Here's a bit more:

Port Saint Lucie, FL — Director for Provisional Government of Afghanistan, Corporation

Seddique Mateen has been associated with three companies, according to public records. The companies were formed over a five year period with the most recent being incorporated three months ago in March of 2016. Two of the companies are still active while the remaining one is now listed as inactive.

Right. President Obama, in today's address to the nation, couldn't allow himself to mention Islamic terrorism, but found time to bring up the need for gun control.

ONE MORE TIME

This is about the shooting in Orlando, not 9/11, who is or isn't braver, or just about anything else I've seen on the last two pages. Get back on topic, or expect post removals and temporary posting bans.

Do not reply to this post.

This is horrifying. Call it what it is, though: An American born "terrorist" attack on people that were different from him. Hatred for someone elses sexuality His ethnicity doesn't matter. the face that he is first gen American doesn't matter. Millions of others are first gen Americans and they don't do this kind of thing.

For the first time i have heard lets at least give barry a pat on the back he said 'act of terror'!!! wow!! probably ONLY because the guy called 911 saying he was with ISIS while shooting people i guess didnt leave much room for him to say much more.. Him to muster the words islamic terrorism is tough for his islamic roots

You know a lot of precious innocent young people died today, remember them?

Yes, but it seem to be more important to draw a moral equivalency between Islam and Christianity so that people shut up about this being Islamic terrorism and Muslims don't have to either feel bad or denounce their own bad actors like we do.
