Hey guys,

Let's end the use of the word Snowflake. It's getting over used consistently by everyone on both sides of each equation. Just because someone doesn't agree with you they are not dumb and they are not snowflakes.

So I'm officially asking the community to please stop calling everyone a snowflake or dumb because they do not agree with you.

No one is going to agree with you, if at all hardly ever.

Thanks

I like snowflakes.... then again I'm Canadian. We've got them 6 months of the year.

I agree but let's not stop with just "snowflake". Let's grow up people.

So you're a SJW now? Words you guys coined and used but now the tables have turned.

Tired of words you don't like and want people to stop using them?

OH THE IRONY.

True to an extent. There's an awesome OP here who made a thread about special snowflakes.

Everyone has an opinion like they do anything else. Whos to say you're grown up only if you don't say things that other people agree on?

When you become the owner of the site, then welI, we may listen.

Snowflakes exist, it's a fact of life.

After posting this, you could be referred to as one, but having read some of your previous threads, I wouldn't say you are.

Can you see where I am coming from? Labels are fun!!

You don't like a word so people should stop using it because it offends you?

That's very snowflake like of you.

It's beyond that. It's to the point that people go out of their way to be offended.

I think it’s strange that people mock what has been called SJW, sincere human beings who want to bring justice to a world largely devoid of justice?

Sure people may go too far sometimes in their activities to highlight injustice but to me this is more dangerous than such a word…

That is to make light of people trying to make a better world

So as long as were getting rid of stuff lets include that too

Of course this is rhetorical I really know that this wont be done.

But what's good for the goose is good for the gander

Depends on the individual. Everyone has different things that set them off. Personally I avoid those. People today seem to seek it out and stay pissed off. Nuts imo.

I wholeheartedly agree. It's just become another overused derogatory label like any other that people can throw around whenever they feel like it to boost their stance in a debate. It doesn't. When you have to reduce yourself to name calling to make a point you lose the argument. - An ATS MOD who is no longer with us, 2009.

I think ATS gives them a platform to let it all out while they otherwise probably wouldn't. But yes, i avoid people like that irl and try to online.

No it's not.

Offence can only be taken, so there are plenty of Snowflakes in the World. People who get offended by the likes of a Stephen Hawking thread, seriously how can you take offence on someone's behalf, without speaking to them about it first?
