I love the mythology of immortals.

Reality will say its myth but its OK to have beliefs.

All of a sudden, you realize that "death" is an illusion, and you are really one of the "immortals", and unable to die.

I think that would be a good thing especially if you're a person that's been looking for immortality and could never find it,,in that case the illusion was you were human.

makes an interesting case none the less.

Ive been researching a guy who attained immortality over a decade ago and stopped aging.

He's looked like that since he was about 20 and that about 20 years ago.

But in that photo he looks 40

Their must be some immortal people don't you think?

I do cause wether you believe in evolution or not since humanity came to be we have always strived/survived to the next step in existence,,, from the first civilisation till today and all believed in some Godly "immortal" beings.

Anyway my point being, as we evolved to this point through thick and thin we always survived up till now, that makes a strong case our genetics will eventually become immortal once our "bugs" have all gone.

If we were ever immortal like "Adam and Eve were" then nothing has been lost just needs unlocked once again.

Food for thought I guess, need to do more research.

your all welcome to give your views.

a reply to: 0hlord i think that the amazing thing with this guy is that he could remember all of those eight lives. The majority of people here probally have lived many more lives than eight it is just that they cannot remember them. In third demension we are not supose to remember our previous lives although some people do consciously. There are quite a few young children that can remember previous lives but generally forget about them around eight years of age or slightly younger

Never heard of it, but to answer the question, no, there are no 'immortals' among us.

How Sure are you, about that! ?

Ohh Telomere Ohh Telomere !! Human? Alien ? Angel ? Demon ?

Theoretically The Whole Planet are Immortals, Except for the Extinct

We have Cells in us that has been Regenerating Duplicating

Well there has been a Woman that has been clinically Dead and Buried
since the 1950s ,

yet her Cells are Quite Alive to this Day and are still being Used !

She would be Considered Immortal and somewhat living ( not as a Whole )
unless she is cloned from her Cells !

Telomerase is also found in high levels in cancer? cells. This enables cancer cells to be immortal and continue replicating themselves. If telomerase activity was switched off in cancer cells, their telomeres would shorten until they reached a ‘critical length’. This would, prevent the cancer cells from dividing uncontrollably to form tumours.

No one has mentioned "The Man from Earth (2007)"?

I knew the Indian story of Babaji floating around Himalayan hills but today - thanks to wikipedia - I have found he has a sister - Mataji and that she lives in a state of spiritual ecstasy in an underground cave.

If I found out that I'm not growing old (outside of India) I'd certainly shut up and run into the wild in fear of indefinite detention in a lab instead of elite club.
Btw I used to think that a huge portion of missing children are rather harvested for stem cells and young organs than for other purposes but there's probably enough juice flooding out of the abortion clinics for the rich. How many years can you buy in theory?
Life seems insanely short but I think a true immortality has no meaning and no place on Earth either. I think you'd feel the need to "leave the vessel" very soon. Eventually you'd been raptured / killed as an inappropriate cancer but I'm not 100% sure seeing what's being allowed to happen.

If you consider living across a million incarnations and evolving toward the Godhead then we are all immortal in potential.
That doesn't mean the ego or the body but only the true self.

Man from Earth is a Nice Movie with a Story Line

well done ...

A man that Stopped Aging or Unknown Reasons

A Man that Lived In the Neolithic times

A Man that wasn't a Modern Human, but a Cro Maganon

in other Tales ...

The Sumerian Kings List , showing Kings that Reined thousands of years..

( according too )
The Old Testament / Torah Telling of Men that Live close to 1,000 years
during the Antediluvian times

And from Noah to his so called Offspring & Wives the Age Started Dwindling
to a Point where the Hebrew God placed a Age Time Limit on Humans after the so called Deluge
120 years Age Limit .. which ironically Man Seem never to Pass it
with a exception of a French Woman Jean Calment that lived to 122 years and 164 days

Jeanne Calment
en.wikipedia.org...

As I mentioned before

If )( MAN )( can solve the Riddle of keeping TELOMERES with a consistent length and stop the Shortening

we could be close to an Immortal..

You make a good point, it's not always about being physically immortal but the self of our souls make us immortal, is that kind of what you mean?

Thanks Cryptic & Wolfenz for your posts, think i'll buy (Man from Earth) cause it sounds good.

@ Wolfenz, Your Telomeres theory is a reliable one cause if they stay at a constant then we wouldn't age half as fast as most people do, i look at least 10 years younger than i am 29, maybe my Telomeres are staying longer for a while before they die/shorten etc,, Still interesting to find out in future.

"Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death." -John 8:51

The Words of Eternal Life have been spoken. Do not stop seeking until you have found. If you want to jump start your understanding, forget everything you've ever "learned" and read the gospel of John.

I agree 100%. Someone asked me if my mom was ME once, because I looked so much like myself, whom they knew 30 years ago, I thought they were joking, I was like, I am me.... I never had a daughter....lol.

In this reality, there is construction and destruction. To combine and or to break apart.

All things contain a force that allows them to naturally combine. However, many combinations of these things allow them to break apart, themselves or others.

Things that are combined don't always break apart. But, all combined things can break apart.

You are fortunate enough to live between a bright object that is constantly destroying, and an object that is constantly constructing. You exist right on the fine line between constant construction and constant destruction.

You yourself have been constructed, and are currently constructing, and you are simultaneously being destroyed. Sometimes equally, sometimes unequally.

As a result of your understanding of this reality, you subject yourself to things that destroy you. Many do it for pleasure, most do it unknowingly, or do it because they know nothing else. However, you survive by consuming things that combine to you.

There are environments that will destroy you, and there are environments that construct you, but you constantly transition between both environments, with a tendency to mostly reside in the environment that destroys.

Knowing this, it is possible to never be destroyed.
