Each of us have our own journey my ended with Jesus Christ.

From 1974 until 1993 I had traveled and searched ended in Maui. I was tired of searching, I was tired of life, I was tired of being robbed by business partners. Pulled a gun out and put it on the floor in front of me and started talking myself into putting it in my mouth saying, "Just pick up the gun it will all be over". when I grabbed it and started to bring it up the words pick up the Bible went through my head. I stopped ended up at a church the next day in Paia and got saved.

Struggled a bit but been going at it ever since.

ah!!!! oh. wow. So, the idea of the Bible (and peripherally, Jesus) pulled you back from the brink of "bullet to head".
