Our resident right winger snagged a blatantly misleading article off Breitbart referencing an incident from a couple years ago (Breitbart posted it with a changed date on it to make it seem as if it had just happened) and people noticed the freaking camera and called the police.

How about a law that says all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in a public restroom?

I can guarantee you that my 16 year old self would rather go take a leak in the alley behind a store than have my mommy or daddy take me to the restroom in a public building.

As would my self at pretty much any age over 9 or 10.

At that age, I'd have hated it too...but who gives a crap what kids want?; It's for their own safety.

If the perecentage of heterosexual and homosexual men who are pedophiles is roughly the same, given the fact that heterosexuals greatly outnumber homosexuals, this illustrates that men aentering womens bathrooms puts girls at a much greater risk.

The risk and discomfort experienced by girls and women greatly outweighs the alleged discomfort of a tiny percentage of trannys and cross-dressers.

I think you need to go back and read those statistics more carefully. Most of the pedophiles who molest boys are still hetero. Often married with a family.

And what, exactly, does your proposed law stop from happening? Pervs are still gonna perv. It's not as if the law gives parents the right or authority to preemptively punch somebody who looks like they might be a perv.

I honestly believe that making a law that requires every parent to escort every minor to and from the restroom is a ridiculous overreach.

"But think of the children!" can be applied to nearly anything. Minors shouldn't walk down the street unescorted because a car might jump the curb and hit them. Or a pedo will try to snatch them.

Minors shouldn't go to school unescorted because there might be a school shooting. Or a teacher might be a pedo and hit on them.

Minors shouldn't spend the night at friends' houses unescorted because there might be booze. Or a pedo might break in.

God help the parent who takes their minor child to a store and allows the minor to go look at video games and the minor decides he needs to take a leak and has the audacity to go by himself.

Eh. Not so much. Because my point is that "but think of the children!" is stupid. The examples I gave, whether you like that or not, are other examples of situations that adults can and do prey on children and yet nobody is proposing making those situations one that require, by law, an adult to escort a minor.

And enacting a law such as you propose while pointing to an incident in which the very thing you propose to make law didn't stop it from happening isn't really something I would consider "in your favor."

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it a poor point.
