I need a new coffeemaker. help me pick one

I am a coffee drinker.
I assume there are plenty of othere here too..
Problem is: I KEEP WEARING THEM OUT!!!!

I have had cheapies, fancy ones as well..5 machines in the last 4 years.

Now I need a new one. again.

This is my criteria:

Must be built kinda like a tank..LOL
Fairly fast brewing time.
Auto shutoff
Adjustable temp, on the warmer.
Will take the standard filters, not the cone shaped ones, but the basket shaped ones.

Coffee fans, HELP!

No problem, and no i dont heh but i would love too, right now i have a toastmaster and its ok so far..

Go for the Bunn automatic drip with the thermal carafe. This has to be one of the best coffe makers I have ever tried. Plus, the thermal carafe seems to keep the coffee fresh for quite a long time.

Whatever you do, do not buy one made in China. The ones coming from them are ment to wear out so you have to buy another.

Bunn makes some in the US but they are not cheap.

You might want to check coffee makers from Europe since they are great coffee fans. Several make very good coffee makers, but here again they are no real cheap.

I've had my BaRun for about 7 years, use it daily and it is still going strong!

How about trying a percolator? I love percolated coffee!

A friend of mine has a Bunn coffeemaker, a pretty robust machine. Thats on my list to check out for sure.

A percolator, reminds me of being a kid, hearing that gurgling sound,
and the great smell, when my Dad was getting ready for work in the morning.
My mom also had a Pyrex, stovetop percolator, I used to love
watching the colored droplets slowly tint the water darker and darker..

BTW,

I was in a small department store earlier this evening, and was looking at the few models they carried..
Didn't find one..But, on the magazine rack, was a copy of this months National Geographic.

They do take a little more time to clean - about 5 to 10 minutes. But the coffee is just wonderful and it's never given me any trouble. I also keep a Senseo single serve coffee maker in my kitchen for quick fixes. So a french press may not be for you.

My MIL began using this recently and she loves it. It brews really fast and it's easy to clean, but it is really, really strange to watch brew.
