I've always wonder about this. Are we just pets, like an ant farm or something? They buy an aquarium, aka earth, and populate it with Humans and other animals.

Also isn't it funny how pets can have pets too? Like that monkey that has a pet dog.

If we are pets, they must be bored to death to allow chaos be their medium of actual entertainment. Movies don't entertain them anymore if we are pets. Bite the hand that bleeds you!

Many think we could be living in a simulation.

Elon Musk recently said he was certain we are. There is some compelling evidence of the possibility.

Don't you really think that they would have us as mere pets?
lab rats would probably be a more apt term.
Wanna knock it up several levels? Then assume that we are allowed to continue as a "social experiment."
But as pets? Naw!
