Dem Race Tightens in California as Clinton Barely Leads Sanders 49% to 47%: Poll

Clinton and Sanders running even in California wouldn't affect the overall delegate math in the Democratic race, where Clinton leads Sanders by some 270 pledged delegates and 770 overall delegates. (A tied race would essentially split the state's 475 pledged delegates right down the middle under the Democrats' proportional allocation system.)

But a Sanders victory in California — even by a small margin, and no matter how symbolic — could potentially give him justification to remain in the race heading into July's Democratic convention in July, despite trailing in the delegate math.

I thought Sanders promised to stay in the race no matter what?

The fundamentals that make Clinton the favorite haven't changed. She's still about a 1/2 favorite to win the presidency according to the betting markets.

Is Sanders run smoke and mirrors or could he still be the Democrat's nominee?

That or the polls are complete BS.

I would like to see Clinton sell out a stadium in California.

No one in their right mind who has put any effort into educating themselves on politics and this country would vote another Clinton or Bush or anyother dynasty family back into office again.

The only people voting for her are low information voters or anyone buying into the, "we need a woman president" bs line.

You know what these polls are meant to do? Make it look like its a close race so more people donate to the democratic party for the general election. That's it.

They want Sanders supporters donating more money to Sanders so when he endorses Clinton she golf clap rofls at the Sanders supporters thanking them for their contribution.

Sanders has a HUGE spending plan and tax hike plan that will bloat the federal government.

Of course democrats and republicans in the federal government want him to win.

"Smoke & mirrors" is any whiff you get that Trump or Hillary have a chance.

There are multiple problems you addressed in that post :
Education on politics - Know how few citizens can name the 3 branches of government . Know who Joe Biden is ? Hell , they may as well just roll a random number and vote from dice.Thats the level of political intelligence in the US.

Voting a dynasty candidate in : see above , and its ok , dad held office and the world didnt end. Why not vote son in ?

Is California an open primary? Trump should ask his supporters to vote Sanders just to pissed HC off.

Trump better hope Hillary wins the nomination.

There's no way he could beat Bernie in the general.

Of course, that would require the Bernie supporters to actually REGISTER to vote....
(oddly, most of them I know aren't registered when I asked, but they PLAN to...lol)

Thing is, tomorrow, Clinton will be that much closer after Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. By the time New Jersey is announced, counting supers, she'll have enough to clinch it, even without CA.

Of course, Bernie could keep going, and he'll likely do well enough in CA (pretty sure he and Clinton will split the CA delegates), but then we'll see a contested Convention if he remains. If it goes that far, the Bernie supporters can congratulate themselves for electing Trump...

No Sanders supporters are registering? These must be Hilley's mob, right?

A recent PPIC poll shows Mrs. Clinton with a 2% lead over Mr. Sanders, and a Fox News survey found the same result. Even a narrow win would give him 250 pledged delegates or more—a significant boost. California is clearly trending to Mr. Sanders, and the experience in recent open primaries has been that the Vermont senator tends to underperform in pre-election surveys and over-perform on primary and caucus days, thanks to the participation of new registrants and young voters.

To this end, data from mid-May show that there were nearly 1.5 million newly registered Democratic voters in California since Jan. 1. That’s a 218% increase in Democratic voter registrations compared with the same period in 2012, a strongly encouraging sign for Mr. Sanders.

Looks like the polls are a change'n!

The USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll found Sanders 1 point ahead of Clinton among eligible primary voters, the first survey to put Sanders ahead of Clinton. Sanders was ahead of Clinton 44-43, according to the poll.

Even though Hillary and Bernie are statistically TIED ahead of tomorrow's California primary ( ref: www.realclearpolitics.com...), I think Bernie voters are more determined to get out there and vote.. especially if its raining.
