Ken Loach asks the essential question here at 1:05.

Who indicated to police there would be no come-back for pursuing the policy of cover-up?

Surely it could only be government. The same entity now attacking British policing.

Coincidence?

My conclusion is..

The government gave the police enough rope to hang themselves, and they duly complied.

The helpful thing to do at this point would be to cut them down before they've finished choking.

For our own safety we must dig out the intelligence agency, government, military and corrupt media involvement in these 80's events.

Good find, As he says about miners injustice, "the police were sanctioned to do what the did, at the time, the media were compliant in the governments version of events, and the truth will come out."

I suppose that's why private security is on the rise, and might replace the police all together one day. You can't have a freedom of information inquiry into private firms...

All good and true Kester, but the main thread in the video is actually more to do with the media also bowing to the political pressure. That's what Ken Loach is saying, The truth was out there, the media were there, it was a media event, it was a public event, with only the public in the main saying what was happening at the time, while the media set about creating a potted history, with a picture here and a picture there at the time, which gave no clue whatsoever to what actually happened.
