I'm not an exorcism buff by any means, but a good place to start would be by reading a book by the name of Possessed, by Thomas B. Allen. It's about the Robbie Manhiem exorcism. There are also a few websites on the subject. Another place to look might be in some catholic works, as they spent a lot of time studying the subject, especially in the middle ages.

I heard a lecture by an exorcist at my school a few years ago. I don't remember much of what he said, but I was surprised that it was still happening so much more than we're aware of.

The thing is that it's really kind of hard to find a lot of information on it unless you have talked to somebody who has done some serious research. All of the stuff that I've found so far is about the Manhiem exorcism, or it has to do with the movie "The Exorcist."

I've participated in a few excorcisms in my life. I have been both exorcised and given an exorcism. However, it wasn't from Christian priests or anyone you think would normally do it. IMO, their techniques aren't effective.

Otto_States: Curious, please elaborate. Also, why do you think that Christian techniques aren't effective?

I dont believe in possesion in the first place. Influence yes, controling emotion, weak push on bodys, or talking as thoughts. Not compleate control

Well, when I was possessed I started hearing voices around my room (I was starting to study psionics at the time and I guess telepathy kicked in early for me.). It threatened me with death, saying that it would eventually kill me and inhabit my body. I spent a long time willing it far away from me and countless hours destroying it after it re-entered my body. I have a safe-guard which captures demons now, called a seal (a marble), which I've seen only a few other people carrying around.

I've tried the Christian technique at first, calling upon Jesus to help me, but the demon just stayed. It's happened every time since I've done a self-exorcism or tried to exorcise someone.

I was driving late at night in Rural Northern B.C. near Fort Nelson. We all have two way radios for emergancies(spelling?) on oil field / logging roads. Suddenly a demonic voice came on the radio and said" I like to touch myself". Scared the bejeezes out of me cause I was kinda glancing at a porn mag on the passanger seat of my truck. No other vehicles in a 40km radius and the radio is good for 5kms.
That's my demonic story. Any comments.

From the research I have done, I have found that there are what is considered to be 3 stages of possession:

1. Infestation. This is where things take place in a specific location, usually the sorts of happenings that are associated with a poltergiest.

2. Obsession. The same happenings occur, but now out of the home, and are associated with a specific person.

3. The actual possession of a person.

From accounts I have read about supposed hauntings, the first on the list seems to be the most frequent, with the second occurring every once in a while, and I have only come across one or two stories in which actual possession was seriously considered. There is also the fact that needs to be taken into consideration that the first two stages would provide evidence for a poltergiest, which, in recent years, has been shown to be a person who is under a great deal of stress (evident in the fact that it takes place most often around young teenagers) manifesting latent telikinetic powers without knowing that they are doing so. Obviously, that would explain why there is activity in a specific location and around a specific person.

In the middle ages, possession seemed to be a more common occurrance, but oftentimes what was considered possession back then would by today's standards be considered misdiagnosed disorders such as schizophrenia or ms. There are also many cultures still in existance today that believe in possession.

I suppose that while anything is possible, actual demonic possession is very rare, and all other possible explanations for a given incident should be taken into consideration before talking about exorcisms.

You might want to look into some of the discussions being held on EVP. You would probably be able to find some info there.

There's a great book about possesion, called 'Hostage to the Devil' by Malachi Martin. I think that's how his name's spelled. In any case, it chronicles five or six instances of possession in contemporary America. He was a Jesuit priest and author, and researched each case personally.

It was a really creepy read, but fascinating all the same.

I have a few demons follow me around and try to scare me with numbers. Funny thing about numerology. Once you understand the meanings and significance of the # say 322 for example. Genesis 3 verse 22 about the man has become one of us to know good and evil and Skull and Bones Chapter 322 etc they begin taking on intelligent design and pop up at the oddest times. For example just last week I was trying to straighten out an Insurance policy and a woman walked in. She politely said she was there to meet with a representative and had an appointment. When asked for her Social Security number i overheard the first 3 digits and they were 322-

Just the other day at 2:16pm cst the Vikings I think had the ball at 3rd and 22 to go on the play for a first down.

This is a mere microcosm of what I experience with numbers. lmao It entertains me never the less
11:11 and 911 are some other number sets that pop up alot. Maybe demonic entities tell me to look when these numbers are being displayed.

Come on,,,what are the chances of me looking at NFL at 2:16pm cst and seeing the 3rd and 22 yards to go for a first down or the lady with the social security number came walking in right after me?

meh its been done. just now i walked out of my room and looked at the clock, guess wat it said...11:11, then i turned around and all of the clocks around me (which is about 3) said 11:11, i got a bit freaked out so i go back to the computer, and once again 11:11, and almost every time i look at a digital clock its either 11:11, 11:22, 11:33, 11:44, etc. Its pretty disturbing. Like the other day i looked at my watch, 11:11, so then i sort of have a nap, wake up look at watch 11:22, go to eat, look at clock 11:44. i mean, wtf??

That's me. I'm about 14 right now and from the point I started sixth grade to the point I ended seventh grade, I was stressed out from a new work load, new school, and bullies I kept encountering. I was even suspicious of myself having clinical depression around that time.

Anyways, I just wanted to add to your post with:

Poltergeists and Hauntings

Ways that Hauntings and Poltergeists Differ

HAUNTING: This particular event occurs with ghosts of human beings appearing frequently in certain areas and times.

POLTERGEIST: This may not be a ghost at all. There are theories that poltergeists are massive amounts of PK energy that is controlled unknowingly by a living person. In certain cases poltergeist activity has been linked to demons or evil spirits.

HAUNTING: The ghosts in this activity appear in areas that the deceased were familiar with in life.

POLTERGEIST: This can be triggered by a living person's trauma any where and any time.

HAUNTING: This is continous over periods of time. They occur in the same general location everytime.

POLTERGEIST: This builds up over periods of time to a climax and then restart over. This energy can travel anywhere anytime following anyone.

HAUNTING: This activity is not violent by nature.

POLTERGEIST: When this energy gets nearer to the climax of its cycle, poltergeists can become dangerous. Poltergeists can inflict mental and physical terror in extreme cases.

Five Levels of Poltergeist Activity
LEVEL 1:The Sense Attack

Level 1 is referred to as a Sense Attack. This is because at the beginning of this phenomenon the poltergeist attacks the basic human senses. Witnesses may hear strange noises in the middle of the night, they may walk into a room and feel a cold spot move over their body. They may see the lights flicker, shadows move. They may smell weird and strange smells.

Characteristics: Strange noises(knocking, rappings, etc.) - Unusual activity by animals (family pets running from room terrified) - May have the feeling of being watched - May experience cold or hot spots

LEVEL 2: Communication

When this second phase begins the noises, smells become more direct. The enerygy is turned up a few notches, but the poltergeist is still in early energy phase. The noises will change from sounds you can not define, to noises such as laughing or whispers. Instead of feeling cold spots, cold air will rush through room as if a wind is blowing. Marks will start to appear on walls. ceilings. Objects in the home (furniture, knick knacks) will start to move. Objects will start to be thrown through out the house.

Characteristics: Moving shadows - Breezes in areas closed off - Laughs, giggles, moans or shrieking - Stronger than your average static electricity - Weird marks on the floors and ceilings - Objects that have moved or have been thrown

LEVEL 3: Electrical Control

At this stage is when it starts to get terrifying for most witnesses. The main emotion in the home where this is occurring begins to be Fear. In the first two stages you could explain it away as your mind playing tricks on you, but no in this one. The activity becomes more real. The poltergeist starts to feed off this fear to gather enough energy to move to the next stage.

Characteristics: There will be hands that are not seen grabbing and/or touching people - Writing will start to appear on walls - Windows and doors will start to open and close by themselves - You start to hear voices - Start to see full apparitions/dark figures - You start to have direct conversation with the apparitions - The phone starts to ring - Objects start to fall out of nowhere - Furniture begins to move - Appliances begin turning on/off

LEVEL 4: The Trickster Stage

This is the stage where the poltergeist starts to gather momentum. At this stage objects begin to be hurled across the room and objects disappear. Furniture begins to violently shake and shudder. There are flames that spontaneously burst out. People start to be violently pushed. Obscenities and orders for the living to leave the house are heard. Some people consider this to be a ghost playing jokes, but in reality it is a poltergeist gathering information about the people and what they consider to be frightening. All this information will be used by the poltergeist to create an environment of absolute terror for the living. It will then use this terror to feed on and build its own energy.

Characteristics: The living feeling dizzy or nauseated - Windows, mirrors, ceramic objects begin to shatter with no one around them - There will be levitation - There will be physical attacks - Fires will suddenly start for no reason - There will be apparitions appeariing as frightening entities - People will be violently shoved or shaken - there will be visions or illusions - Disembodied voices will be heard shouting out orders or obscenities - Objects flying or moving - Objects disappearing and reappearing.

LEVEL 5: The Danger Stage

This is the level that the poltergeist has reached it highest energy and should be considered extremely dangerous. This activity could end in days, hours. Then again it could last for months, years. After it stops the poltergeist is just dormant and will start over at stage one. This stage will include but not limited to: biting, scratching, punching, and sexual assaults may occur. This is when dangerous household objects such as knives start to fly across the room aiming to stick itself into a living person in the room. Fires can and will start in rooms when everyone is asleep.

Characteristics: Hair pulling, biting, slapping - Objects will become animated - Possible Human Possession - Household electrical systems are used to cause harm - fires - there will be blood on walls, ceilings - vicious attacks - persons being held down - sexual assaults - threateniing writings - threatening voices.

Wow. Those last 2 stages sound pretty intense. When I was pretty young, ranging from about 10 to 14 or 15, we had a poltergiest in the house. Fortunately, it didn't go beyond things moving, falling, strange noises such as tapping, scratching, knocking, and breathing (that was the most terrifying, to be alone in a room and hear a loud breathing next to your ear) and electrical appliances turning on. Some of this activity was witnessed by other members of my family, but none of it ever occurred when I wasn't in the room, and most of it occurred when I was by myself. I guess that this would give creedence to the idea that poltegiest activity is really PK energy being put off by someone unknowingly.

Believers in the possiblility of possession figure that oftentimes, the simple poltergiestic activity is generated by a specific person, but that when apparitions begin to appear, it is actually spirits who are attracted to the activity. Also, some believe that they can be attracted by people who are putting out psychic energy and are not gaurding against incoming negative energy. Which is why I don't try seances or use ouija boards

well heck slap the dog and spit in the fire... if you build the thread they will come and come they did!! thank you all for answering and your comments. as for the books, possessed by thomas allen and hostage to the devil i did read them both and they were superb. there is one more great one to read called beware of the night by ralph sarchie he is an ex-cop who work with malachi martin and assisted in several exorcisms and did with ed and lorraine warren (excellent books by them too, they are also demonologists) i absolutely believe in this subject and that it is very real and that the devil is alive and well. i wonder about being exorcised and beaten by lucifer because i hear those voices too and it can be creepy. about the christian rituals, i mean the holy water, the cross, and the proper prayers, and the rosary, the pics of jesus etc... anyway i have a friend who questioned that because he said all jesus did when he did it was command the demons to leave and they did, i say he was on a plane higher that us and THE SON OF GOD, therefore had a little more power to him than us and besides a house divided cannot stand so why would satan give us the rosary the cross or have us believe in holy water, holy oil or sacred pics if he (or it) wants us to use them to cast out demons?? the devil cannot cast out the devil right??? thank you all who responded and hopelfully we can keep communicating about this subject... appollonia
