Apparently the Nazi's are in control of online MSM..... hate speech is a American First Amendment right..... it's BS to add hate speech in this Nazi style crack down.

Hate speech laws are dubious, much like any restriction of speech. Any use of force that suppresses any speech, no matter how hateful the speech may be, is always more oppressive and detrimental to a free society than letting it be spoken.

Facebook is an owned site, so I guess that's their right to moderate. They do the same here on ATS, but with even more restrictions.

I have a question, who or what is the driving force behind censorship and PC, and why does it have so much power

Superstition, the same superstition that put Socrates to death for "corrupting the youth", the idea that any consequence of human speech is the fault of the speaker, and not the listener. Look at the wording of the hate speech laws throughout the world. "Incitement", "generating hate"—the notion here is that people can manipulate the physical world with words and be charged for it, which is no different than condemning someone for sorcery.

Yes everyone should know better about Facebook..... but.... the list includes Google and Microsoft Corp, everyone knows the government is in their pockets.... they have no right to trample on our voices.

It's also the Jewish youth group, UEJF being like Nazi's... how ironic.

Cutting the foreskin off of a baby boys penis is cruel too but I don't see Christians speaking out against it in huge numbers, in fact they allow it for the most part.

This whole Islamaphobia thing is getting really annoying. If you call one religion out for something then why not other religions who do the same thing?

Circumcision in any form is genital mutilation! It serves no good purpose.

Do we really even want facebookers knowing whats going on in the world?

I make money, they compete for their fragile egos.

Let's keep em memed up and sell em junk.
......

On topic.

Fkrbird cannot be trusted. He's too busy spending black budget tax dollars imo.

You could say Fkrbird actually is the "anticlit"

Not much needs to be said about the morality of the mutilations.

Facebook users deserve the canned view imo.

Clit removal vs trimmed foreskin for cleanliness.

In males it stops the build up of smegma..a white cheeselike substance that accumulates on foreskin or....etc and stuff

Islamaphobia?

All righty, then.

FGM is an abhorrence. It is basically brutality of girls and women. Need to tell it at it is... mutilation.

These cultures are just not fit for the modern world.

Private companies or not.

Somebody is getting real nervous about these issues.

I wonder who? and what they are so scared of?

Well all they can do is remove the post. The article states that many people have moved to a whole new level of bigotry online ever since the immigration crisis. Facebook doesn't want a bunch of people posting hatred on their site obviously, which is their right. If people want to be a bigot, then they can use there "free speech" and start saying it to people's faces.

Would you be a bigot if you posted a factual news story about a violent crime?
Would it be "hate speech" if a person posted a factual incident of a protected class who committed a crime?

Use all the buzzwords you choose to name call people who say something factual as hate speech, however, this is what will come of this nonsense.

I'll bet you anything you like, Facebook will not censor anything hateful said against white people nor Christians, which in of itself, shows the political agenda behind this censoring nonsense!

ATS doesn't allow its members to use the f-word, the c-word, or the n-word. Nor does it allow outright hate speech threads or personal attacks on other members. It also doesn't allow nude pictures, centerfold zoom shots, and links to porn sites.

Does that mean that ATS is stomping on y'alls "free speech" too ?

Or does it just simply mean that ATS is trying to keep its site family-friendly while at the same time trying to maintain a friendly, respectful atmosphere for its members to partake in ?

Hmmm...

Infantile foot stomping ?

or

Mature social interaction ?

Gosh, it's just so darned tough to decide which is the better path for an online social media service to choose from.

If you think ATS is family friendly and has a respectful atmosphere then it could be you are thinking of some other place

It's Facebook - what should we expect? Free speech isn't the goal of sites like that; conforming to whatever those in control are pushing is the goal.
