I think you need to look harder. You can tell a huge difference in the hue of the skin. She is very light skinned. Look at her hands.

She's a black girl you have to be blind to miss it. And who is shocked by campus security not knowing what they are doing. They pay them like 9 an hour and only get real idiots to apply. So no shock that campus security doesn't know what they are doing.

This is difficult to read in some areas.

I present a 68-page report with grammatical, spelling, and other errors for your reading...enjoyment?

I always heard that they tend to favor the lighter complexioned of their race. Maybe it just depends on what part of the country they're from or live in. Eh, who knows...but the security guard first on the scene seemed to go a little heavy on the girl. However, not knowing what verbals were exchanged it's hard to say.

You hear this in your cocoon under a rock. Lol
What the heck...??!! Has ATS gone full reddit in what they claim to deny... when did people go to making sarcastic and somewhat informed, albeit exaggerated, to this...

This whole thing is disgusting and despicable. The "cop" needs to be fired and imprisioned for this overreaction. No elevator pass? That's a detention at most. This is way too overkill.

I read through page 2 and couldn't continue. Who are the adults here? They act like they are taking down an armed Drug Lord who is armed with guns. They pepper sprayed a child in a school.

Neither employee had trainintg to deal with the use of an elevator and a tantrum in a better way.

Both employees should be fired and not be allowed near a school ever again.

Have no idea what you lot are on but the officer did nothing wrong. Please explain what he did do wrong.

He was called by a teacher because a student was being non compliant. Judging by her body movements she was clearly being resistant and had an attitude, like she had a right to use the elevator, although she knew she didn't.

He went to escorts her away from the location, no excessive force, until she knocked the pepper spray out of his hand. She then became physical. He threw her (not to the ground, not excessive in the slightest) to retrieve the pepper spray before she could use it against him. He had every right to use excessive force to restrain her but chose not to.

She was collapsing on the ground on purpose (like alot of people in the wrong). That was not mistreatment, that was her own doing. It's a common thing for Leo's. He then gave her plenty of time to comply, not touching her, trying to reason with her with his colleague and multiple teachers. She was non compliant, started to attack his legs.

When I read the quotes that say he acted in accordance with procedure I didn't believe it. After watching the video I cannot think of a better outcome. No one was hurt (no doubt she will claim to be) but the video clearly shows any injuries sustained are her own doing.

Let's be objective people. People trying to blame the police (they aren't police dumb asssses) can become infuriating, just people on auto pilot.

Looks like a valuable lesson in consequences there.
If a cop tells you to bugger off you would have to be some kind of retard to hang around and expect no consequences, especially if you are also running your mouth off.

Yes, the lesson is that challenging some asshole's authority over not having an ELEVATOR PASS deserves you some physical violence.

Really great lesson there. A grown man assaulting a woman because she 'disobeyed'.

Yep, positive stuff that is.

So, Respect and Obey authority without question, or you "deserve" being violently assaulted?

Oh fascism, how I *heart* you.

Well, if first your teacher tells you to take the stairs, then you are such a pain in the neck they call a security guard or cop and you still won't listen, then the problem is you, not society being fascist.

Talk of elevator passes used to be a prank. Now there actually real? Another part of school becoming a money making company.

What has gone wrong with police in that they feel the need to beat up a young person over riding an elevator.

It was not a prank nor a cost to get in my case in HS (long ago in a decade known as "the 70's"). The elevator pass was only authorized with a doctors note, and cost nothing. I do not know what the rules are in this case.

My school never even had elevators...or cops.
Backchat a teacher and you'd be lucky to get a smack round the head...so we didn't.

How many stories was the school? Was it a perk for teachers and also for use by the handicapped?

Like many others, I have never seen a school with an elevator but my school days were a bit of a ways back.

edit:

i can see the problem if all students want to use it.
edit on 5/30/2016 by roadgravel because: (no reason given)

That doesn't justify state-sanctioned assault by a public servant for a nonviolent act.
