I think the police just wanted to end any debates that COULD turn violent. They've got this pretty well under control.

And many that oppose him haven't yet realized they're one.

Their "cause" feeds a political agenda seemingly unrelated or unbeknownst to them. Whether they know it or not isn't important. Their passion is being exploited.
