Trump says he would be willing to debate Sanders. Within minutes Sanders agrees via Twitter.

The battle between networks to air this will be EPIC. Since Trump suggested this debate while appearing on ABC...

The best part is Hillary being on the outside looking in. Like in that movie Trading Places, where Winthrop was standing out in the cold watching through the window as his friends enjoyed a Christmas feast. To add insult, a dog walked up and pee'd on his leg. Funny stuff! Too bad Hillary...

trump would win: he excels in the art of talking lots and saying nothing, that's an ability Sanders does not have, and that's what politics is all about

I'm sure Trump's thinking ahead like a chess player does. He wants to debate Sanders in a fashion that will make Sander's supporters vote for him (Trump) in the General Election, assuming it's Trump vs Clinton on November 8th.

How should Donald Trump debate Bernie Sanders, if Donald's primary goal is to win over Sander's supporters? One thing I know he'll do is restate to Sanders (loud and clear) how terribly unfair the DNC has been to him.

A debate is one thing, but I've come to conclude that Trump and Sanders would actually make a very good team imo, both of them appear to have the best interests of America and her people at heart as a fundamental tenet of their campaigns.

Trump represents the 1% Bernie has been attacking since entering the race! Their personality and the majority of their views totally conflict with each other. Bernie is honest, considerate and respectable. Traits that Trump doesn't possess. Bernie's non-millionaire/billionaire status and his record of fighting for the middle class and minorities makes him much more capable of relating to the middle class than Trump or Clinton ever can.

Trump has been selling the middle class a load of BS. Trump has always been for Trump. How can anyone with his riches and being handed a million dollars from his father to put him on the easy track to make his riches, even relate to the average hard working American? Anyone who buys his snake oil and BS is being taken for a sucker. How many lies, outrageous and ignorant rhetoric need to come out of this guys mouth until people start removing their blind folds?

Trump is selling the middle class a line of BS. Trump was a bully in his high school days and still carries that immature trait today. Psychologists have even stated Trump has a text book Narcissistic personality disorder!

I doubt Bernie would even consider running along side Trump. It would go against everything Bernie stands for.

Trump is going to end up agreeing with a lot of what Bernie says and get a massive swing in voters.

He'll also end up explaining some of his positions better.

If Bernie really doesn't like Trump debating him is the worst thing he can do.

This is genius for both candidates.

Clinton refused to debate Sanders before the California primary. The DNC has been going out of their way to avoid air time for Sanders. Every other debate was at terrible times, and the next one between Clinton and Sanders is the same time as two major sports events. So, this will give Sanders the air time he needs, plus some. Trump's media draw will be huge for Sanders.

And Trump will get more free air time. He has no one left on his side to debate, so this gets him back on the stage again before the general election.

I can see it going like this:
They jab at each other on the issues a bit, as they do have differing views.
Overall, Trump will be nice to Sanders, thus bringing some Sanders voters to him in the general election.
They will both hit hard on Hillary when she is not there to defend herself.

Genius.

If Trump did that then he would just show how clueless he really is about those subjects.

Bernie can't out economy Trump anyway.

Bernie has forgotten more about the economy than Trump could ever hope to comprehend.

What else is there for Bernie?

To show up at this debate and hand Trump his butt on a platter.

Actual debate aside, we are going to have Trump supporters and Bernie supporters occupying the same "safe space".

I predict that:

A. a black hole is formed sucking the entire planet in on itself, effectively destroying everything.
B. Disclosure will happen
C. There will be peace, and no one will get hurt, police cars won't get totaled, and nothing will be set on fire.

/end sarc

someone is going to die

And don’t trust anyone who says it is.

Contrary to what members of the major parties say (mostly garden-variety Democrats, but some of the more parochial Republicans too) – Somalia and other broken, war-torn nations are NOT Libertarian utopias.

Might be worth a read.

I know but I also figure he might as well get some perspective just in case. I've seen this argument used before and the people took themselves seriously.

Duh. That was the point I was making. Those stupid examples before aren't Socialist paradises either. It's just a lazy argument made to shun socialism and I was countering by giving examples of failed Libertarian states. I guess that flew over your head though.

And at the same time, we can argue for sensible social welfare programs like a Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) and a simplified universal health insurance program. These simple, universal programs can satisfy the needs of society while doing away with huge bureaucracies and armies of compliance departments at big corporations.

Maybe I should become a libertarian...
