Apparently, an Israeli tech firm, Faception, has created software that can tell if you're a terrorist, pedo, white collar criminal, or a great poker player. They claim to have an 80% accuracy rate and guess who just bought this software?

The Department of Homeland Security. You can bet your bottom dollar Israel is already using this software and soon I expect our western allies, like France, to adopt it as well.

It's begun ladies and gentlemen. They're coming for you.

Faception said it’s already signed a contract with a homeland security agency to help identify terrorists. The company said its technology also can be used to identify everything from great poker players to extroverts, pedophiles, geniuses and white collar-criminals.

“We understand the human much better than other humans understand each other,” said Faception chief executive Shai Gilboa. “Our personality is determined by our DNA and reflected in our face. It’s a kind of signal.”

Faception has built 15 different classifiers, which Gilboa said evaluate with 80 percent accuracy certain traits. The start-up is pushing forward, seeing tremendous power in a machine’s ability to analyze images.

US begins facial, eye scans on "foreigners" coming from Mexico

It's coming to the entire southern border, eventually. I did a thread a while back about it.

"The real concern is not so much this particular pilot program, it is that this particular pilot program is a step towards a larger program," Geiger said. "Not just in ports of entry, but also in public places, mass transit systems throughout the domestic United States."

i bet this will only be used for profiling purposes on a closed network in public transportation systems and casinos. If they used this any were else they would start identifying politicians and movie stars and the royal familey members as the pedophiles they are.

and then who would we blindly follow?

Well said. My interest just went from curious to nope.

Thank you

Amazing how this start up company has already signed deals with the Department of Homeland Security. Damn, what luck!

We said goodbye to our privacy and now we're being put on potential lists. I wonder where else they're going to put this software to use? Oh right, everywhere.

That would be very ironic if the very systems our authoritarian gov't put into place identified them as pedos, white collar criminals, or even a terrorist! I wonder if those who bought and maintain the systems will be scanned?

Will we soon see businesses purchasing this software? Private schools and universities?

Are they going to use this in the prosecution or the defense of pedophiles? The way this world is going, the latter seems more likely:

"Your honor, my client was not (or would not be, in the case of future crime) acting under his own agency--he was born this way, and I can prove it with this computer analysis."

LGBTP lawyers, take note.

So true! Let's not forget not only our great Military Industrial Complex but also our great Prison Industrial Complex. Both US jails and US black sites need beds filled!

Let's see, who is the only candidate talking about shutting down the PIC? Oh right, Bernie Sanders.

What candidate loves our current Big Brother system and will surely swoon over this? Donald Trump.

They're probably gonna put them on a list and then begin watching them. Sounds good if they ever catch an actual pedo, terrorist, or white collar criminal but even with their 80% so called accuracy rate that leaves the rest totally innocent who have had their rights trampled on. So far our current Big Brother system and the TSA are complete failures and I doubt this new venture will be any different.

So in the end, the police expands and it's not to stop the bad guys. It's to watch you. Next stop, detainment.

I don't think people realize how serious things are getting. That's what all the distractions are for. It's literally happening right in front of us, but we're too busy arguing with each other, talking about stupid nonsensical topics that leave one's mind on idle.

Sharing is caring, here's the other thread I did.

Pre-crime arrives in the UK: Are you ready to label someone "capable" of breaking the law?

Facewatch is a system that lets retailers, publicans, and restaurateurs easily share private CCTV footage with the police and other Facewatch users. In theory, Facewatch lets you easily report shoplifters to the police, and to share the faces of generally unpleasant clients/drunks/etc with other Facewatch users. The BBC reports that Facewatch is currently used at around 10,000 premises. The Facewatch website is full of positive testimonials from shop owners and police forces alike; it does seem to work as intended.

Sorry for the plugs, but I really don't think people understand and talk about this issue enough. Long lines at the TSA? What a perfect reason to implement a new system!

But can it tell you, if you are male or female inside? Then we can solve this bathroom issue once and for all?

It's because there is an apathy epidemic in the US. We are too distracted with our technology.

So far their list only has 15 profiles but with this kind of BS I'm sure that software, or upgrade, is just around the corner.

I am more concerned with this computer designating an individual as a terrorist threat than a pedophile. Even under a false positive of pedophilia, the worst that will happen is a circus court with an individual walking free for the most part.

Get dinged as a terrorist though? With the way NDAA 2012 reinterpreted threats to our nation and how to deal with the threats, an American citizen can be summarily executed without charge or trial if considered a terrorist threat. And with the media fabricating its spin, no one would ever question it. Especially considering propaganda was also legalized in the same bill.

Everyone keep your eyes on the sky, this software may just legitimize drone strikes on our own citizens (or those of our allies by their governments) in our countries. Maybe this will help achieve the goal of "maintain humanity's population under 500,000,000" .

Why stop there? Why don't we just scan all the ones in kindergarden and find out what kind of criminal they are going to be when they grow up? Save the future of waves of pedo's and criminals that will steal from you. Besides that if this is in use I would be willing to bet those it is used against the other 20% of mistakes will never reflect and it will become 100% because people trust the technology they will trust their government. With new tech comes new propaganda to make you believe

Yeah scary stuff , I would like to see more info about the algorithm and profiles.

I remember about 15 to 20 years ago there was a guy in the news who had some patents and a working prototype of a camara that captured video zoomed out like miles away but allowed for the user to zoom in at a later time to within feet.

Imagine google earth but in realime. In essence if a crime occured outside and the camara was filming from a satellite they could rewind or fastforward from the moment the crime occurred.

I have to see if I can find it again, heck I think I may have been the one who posted it here, lol.
One of the biggest limitation back then was the disk space

The quote says "a homeland security agency" (same quote from a Washington Post article I found when trying to google this here: www.washingtonpost.com... ) so... not the Department of Homeland Security of the USA I am guessing. Prove me wrong if you can though.

This idea is pretty ridiculous, but let's not distort the facts.
