I don't give a crap who 'started it.' The Tea Party is asinine. They (and their supporters) really need to dry up.

In other words I'm right. You just thought you could get in a nifty dig at the TEA Party. Oh and something else to consider, the current mainstream GOP hates the TEA Party just as much as you do, so maybe you don't actually hate the mainstream GOP all that much after all. After all, the enemy of your enemy must be your friend.

There is no such thing as "smarter government".

Why is it that everyone is looking at different forms of government, but no one is looking at less government?

Because we love the servitude.

The love of freedom, liberty and independence has been successfully bred out of the population it would seem.

I have heard that expression many times and like before add in, it is not the end of the lesson.

What happens next is the animals roam money FREE on private and public land and take what they want and also kill other animals to survive. That concludes the lesson. Go tell that bear or those wolves wandering around they should not be doing that.

So, what, we should give bears money? That will stop them?

I guess it is consistent logic.

No, you are not right about much of anything; but if you want to have a meager victory a la some timetable of facts - have at it. So what if you got the "timing"? Just hooray for you that you paid attention? Big woop. Not impressed.

Cruz ran as a "Republican" - and everyone knows that everyone hates Cruz (except a handful of morons and your spouse). That's really all I need to know. I was against the bailouts. I am not against government or socialized medicine or universal health care.

Anyone who likes "Cruz" is an enemy. Period.
The rest of the GOP is ridiculous, and I foresaw that they would implode right after the midterms (And I was right!).

The Tea Party sucks.
And (you all) will never, ever be my friend.

Isn't it interesting though how all of those verses talk about "sharing" not having the authoritarian state come in and take the stuff it deems to be excessive to give to those it says does not have enough? Nor does it say anywhere that he who gives must give to the point of being equally poor in order to be considered blessed or righteous.

Not only that, but wouldn't it be hypocritical for us as a nation to hold up our welfare programs and tell the world how wonderful we are? Doesn't Jesus address this in his Sermon on the Mount? I think he does. Why do you want to create large, compelled programs in order to attempt to prove how righteous and moral you are so you can go about bragging about it? That makes you one of the hypocrites. Simple do what you ought, on your own without anyone forcing your hand. Those good deeds will be seen and counted along with your faith.

Or is it that you have no faith, and you merely quote all this to attempt to guilt trip those of us who do?

If you feel guilty, that's on you.
You've made it very clear that you intend to help NO ONE. Just like Ted. "On principle". You'd rather let them starve, and if you think we don't see that, perhaps you should really examine your own sense of morality.

Isn't it interesting how so many try to duck what the Bible actually says, the instructions that are very clearly given, in favor of their own political agendas?

I'm sure that will be a very valid argument on Judgement Day ... what was that again about the sheep and the goats?

Kets, I'll have to trust your higher interpretation that Jesus doesn't care about the hungry ... the Bible is an idle curiosity for me after all.

Everyone? He has quite a following. If Trump had not appeared, he'd be the nominee. I think perhaps you are indulging in hyperbole. "Everyone" is a big word, Buzzy. You are misusing it to the point that you are simply lying.

And you will never, ever be my friend.

We can all be grateful for that.

Everyone who knows him from working/studying, yes. Including his daughter.
He is generally loathsome, and if a few idiots decided that "green eggs and ham" were more important than keeping our country running, well - that's to be expected from pseudo-intellectual political naysayers who don't want to help ANYONE.

They just suggested that kids can't have school lunches anymore, too!

Anyone who thinks the GOP are in any way concerned about anyone but themselves and their rich patrons is delusional, stubborn, poorly educated, or all of those things combined. It is idiocy.

Idiocracy = Tea Party

Hmmm? Where exactly did I say that? Oh, that's right ... I didn't.

What I did say is that Jesus cares about you doing the right thing, not about you micromanaging your neighbor so that you can feel good about thinking your forced your neighbor to do what you think is the right thing.

There is a difference.

Right, that's what you said about what Jesus said.

What Jesus said, apparently was "what you have done for the least of these, you have done for me."

The Bible, if it were an accurate representation, seems to disagree with your interpretation.

But, again, not my area. The post I replied to just put me in mind of the Scriptures.

Lying? Lying??!!! Cruz is despised by those who know him, almost to a one.
That is not a lie. That is common knowledge.

And yes - you be grateful all you like. I'll hang with the compassionate, intelligent, crowd.
The number of sheer lies being told about Bernie's plan dwarfs any exaggeration of how disgusting Cruz is. You don't want to hear what he says? Or accept what he's offering?

Clear off- go live on your own. Have your stupid libertarian utopia. And don't come crying to us when you lose everything by playing Wall Street bingo. When you go hungry. At some point one has to realize it's stupid to keep trying to build a bridge with you all.

That point is now. You all trashed up AlaskanDad's thread like a group troll-gang assault. Can't you just leave us alone??? You've already taken over the entire board.

It literally hurts. It makes me nauseated. I'm sure you'll be so proud to know that. You and ket.

I'm replying to the original post of this thread. I'm not paying attention to whatever you and my wife are discussing.

So ease up on your T&C reflex, mmmkay?

You are aware the article in the OP is just speculative right?

Bernie isn't actually doing this.

The concept makes some sense though.

Isn't there already a socialist party in the US?

Why didn't he just run with that in the 1st place? Seems a little disingenuous to me.

But with that being said, I'd take Bernie over Hillary any day of the week.
because he is a democratic socialist not a socilist
