So basically, you are justifying the now based on 160 years of history?

If you think the goal is to be diverse and balanced, then you should be diverse and balanced, not exclusively female just because you think 160 years give you an easy excuse to be that way.

And, I am an editor.

Wait, didn't you say in another post that because women are better with the written language that it only makes sense you would see more women in publishing/journalism? Fifty plus years ago, you wouldn't see women in editor positions, even if they would be better at it then men. Now you do see more women in those positions. In your own office, you see it. That's a good thing, right? If women are better at it, then you should see more of them, right? So tell me again why Huffington Post is so awful because they put the best qualified people in their editor positions? Tell me again why it's so awful to rejoice in the fact that more women are now hired as editors?

This looks like a meeting of my sister and her friends.

It's only an issue bc of why it posted. This would be like posting the small company I work for in construction where it currently is all white males not only that but they are likely are the worst kind of white, western european ancestry

"Women power"?

How is that not blatantly sexist?

What if some other media outlet tweeted out a picture of only a large group of men sitting around the table with an emoji implying "male power"?

Hey HuffPo, diverse my ass! 14 women, and just 2 blondes? And no redheads? NO GOD DAMN REDHEADS? What utter outrage, I feel so under-represented & unappreciated as a redhead

Obvious foot-in-mouth goldmine aside, meh, this ain't really newsworthy. Stupid, but nothing of crucial importance.

Who exactly made this pic about diversity?

Wasn't the poster.

I may be a social liberal, but I'm very Old School on some things.

However - government is different then a private company - it needs to represent everyone, all facets of the country.

So, I would tend to agree with Susan in this case.

When they post the picture, then spout off about diversity, then it's safe to state that they have failed.

What about this do you believe isn't true?

What if it was a man that thinks he's a woman? Does he get paid the same?

What about a woman that thinks she's a man?
