I repeat. Ours has been fine. I have had major medical procedures. I have had to go to various hospitals. I have had to see different specialists.

While we have had bills for this, they have not been beyond our ability to pay and they have had the lion's share covered without question by the insurance.

And, of course, we are not taxed everywhere on everything to pay for this.

americans pay as much in taxes as the brits on a per capita basis for government healthcare already. did you know that ? we are getting ripped off big time.

But Britain is a country of only 65 million on a island the size of a small state.

Even then the cost of new and upcoming medications is a stretch. We are pushing it.
The UK will always provide as healthcare is as a core British value but a similar system in the USA would never work.
USA needs to come up with its own unique solution and not copy.

what we had wasn't working either, neither is what we have now.

Because your federal government couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery. Health is the biggest UK department and would likewise be the biggest federal department. Seeing as they cant even get the simplest things right in the US goverment they will butcher a NHS style system!

Plus every state needs will be different. Healthcare and costs will vary region to region. Hence why I say that it should be decentralised to the states.
I’m not saying the USA shouldn’t have universal healthcare just that it need sto be done on a state level not federal

I am satisfied with my medical insurance. As well as my medical service providers.
It has, however, become more expensive but my employer covers the majority of the cost.

I should add, I was talking about the cost of the premium. My deductible has not changed nor has the level of coverage.

Americans subsidize the rest of the world's health care.

Why you think it costs so much in US for the same company's product?

While medical research in the US is without doubt really important and first class in many areas, the US does not subsidise the rest of the world. You need to look to the inherent inefficiency in the US healthcare system, coupled with the profit motive.

I don't know they seem to be able to spend a heck of alot of money in their wars to create chaos quite efficiently!!!

I'm sorry, but I do kind of find a healthcare system where unemployed diabetics just opt to go without the danged insulin because their health coverage is lost and they don't have the money for it as being that danged efficient!

and I knew someone who opted to do this!

My health insurance is crap, because dental is still not considered a health insurance bundled deal.

While I've almost died twice from dental issues, one from an abscess and the other when my front top teeth started to decay after the enamel was worn away due to acid reflux issues, those top teeth caused my whole face to swell to the point it cut off my airways. Had to goto the hospital emergency surgery to have those front top teeth removed.

The fact dental isn't considered a health insurance necessity is a criminal act in my opinion.

Not to mention, dental problems cause mental stress and can lead to depression and other mental disorders. We have free clinics and such, that really don't help, since they don't treat you like a patient but like a test subject or learning tool. So if they can learn something through your suffering, they will, while you suffer.

Medical insurance is a joke, a racket just like normal insurance is, while it can and does save and help cover certain events, it creates a serious medium for corruption to feed upon, you think politics are bad, go investigate the medical industry on all levels and try not to find corruption and greed taking top tier priority.

Mine is ok, obamacare has made it significantly more expensive on top of cutting my coverage by 5%. The only thing that it really outrageous about it is my max out of pocket, but routine visits cost me nothing.

sadly, one of the primary reasons it would never take here is the idea that doing something for the benefit of everyone is bad to a large part of the population. socialism !!!

the odd part is it should be a pillar of the GOP platform, because it would mean getting businesses out of the healthcare business. I work for a company of 14 people, and as a round guess I would think my employer pays about $100,000 a year in his share of the costs not to mention the headache of admin

It's not a fear of "socialism" it's not having enough people paying taxes to support a soley tax funded healthcare system.

It's funny that we always have enough money for the NSA or to bomb children in Pakistan or put boots on the ground in IRAQ or wherever, but we can't help people with medical issues? Interesting.

Be realistic - If you keep too many people alive you will have over population - It could get like China where they enforce
birth control - this goes against the right wing 'right to life' group who want more, and more people to ???

It's one thing to get business out of it, and another thing to get government into it.

What part of "limited government" do you not get? How is it limited government to put government in charge of it? I don't call that very limited.

Additionally, take a good long look at the crap going on with the public education system and give me some good reasons why that would never happen with health care.

United Health Care just bailed on Arizona (a sinking ship); the health provider for welfare recipients/ObamaCare.

The form of healthcare here in America is severely flawed. We need to go to socialized medicine. I had so many problems with hospitals billing things wrong with my mother that I was constantly going there when she would visit. She had one hundred percent coverage between the medicare and veterans insurance but the hospital would screw up the billing with wrong codes or sending bills to the wrong veterans insurance. They kept billing us, I told them and showed them the coverage, they billed it right and got paid. Also, Walmart denied her medicine coverage by the insurance and charged us for the medicines because they said the deductible wasn't paid. I had to call their corporate office when I received the statements, the insurance did pay and so did we. They double billed, if you do not contact them they do not credit you anything. Now that is fraud, they are defrauding either the customer or the medicare sometimes or insurance companies. They had no intention of changing their policies, you need to make sure to check what was paid. over the four years, I received three checks back for a total of over three hundred fifty bucks. Other pharmacies started to do that now, I suppose they saw Walmart doing it so they started to do it.

No matter what status one's health insurance coverage holds now, be it great, good, so-so, or horrible... it will deteriorate to some degree starting on 1.1.2017. And, if Hillary is elected, that deterioration is guaranteed to continue for 2018, 2019, 2020, etc..
