This was ridiculous.. talk of useless generations, the evils of homosexuality and returning things back to how they used to be, as if revisiting historical oppression was a solution to contemporary problems.

The guy is a frigging idiot.

The are not inter-related. We have science. We have belief sets.

I'm not religious, but I would call myself spiritual.

I believe the spiritualism comes in handy when ethics comes into play.

For example, sure we could build and detonate a bomb, but ethically, should we?

Oh wait...we do...never mind. Our ethics stink, even with religion or spirituality.

The mad march of science without temperance shall slay us all in time.

There have been religions saying that everything is energy and everything is connected way before science finally discovered these facts.

In the Jewish religion, they believe in putting their hands in running water before eating, now we know because of science that the washing of hands helps against germs.

Religion may not be 100% true but it has discovered some things before science, so it's not completely useless as the question seems to suggest.
