ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVE AN AVERAGE OF $5,692 IN FEDERAL WELFARE BENEFITS EVERY YEAR, FAR MORE THAN THE AVERAGE “NATIVE” AMERICAN HOUSEHOLD, AT $4,431, ACCORDING TO A NEW REPORT ON THE COST OF IMMIGRATION RELEASED MONDAY. The Center for Immigration Studies, in an analysis of federal cost figures, found that all immigrant-headed households — legal and illegal — receive an average of $6,241 in welfare, 41 percent more than native households. As with Americans receiving benefits such as food stamps and cash, much of the welfare to immigrants supplements their low wage jobs. The total cost is over $103 billion in welfare benefits to households headed by immigrants. A majority, 51 percent, of immigrant households receive some type of welfare compared to 30 percent of native households, said the analysis of Census data.
President Obama is seeking $17,613 for every new illegal minor, more than Social Security retirees get.The average immigrant household consumes 33 percent more cash welfare, 57 percent more food assistance, and 44 percent more Medicaid dollars than the average native household. The greater consumption of welfare dollars by immigrants can be explained in large part by their lower level of education and larger number of children compared to natives. Over 24 percent of immigrant households are headed by a high school dropout, compared to just 8 percent of native households. In addition, percent of immigrant households have three or more children, vs. just 6 percent of native households.www.nowtheendbegins.com...[u rl=http://]http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/illegal-immigrant-households-get-5692-in-welfare-1261-more-than-american-families/article/2590744[/url][e ditby]edit on 5/18/2016 by semperfortis because: Corrected all CAPS

Sort of confusing numbers there. Mixing up illegal with legal, and such.
Children born in the US are legal citizens, are they not?

In the UK our government signs off more money to immigrants under the disguise of 'benefits' that what our elders receive with their pensions, more than what a single mother (a UK resident) would receive in support of her child, more than our young families, newly redundant families, ex-military personnel, the list goes on.

It's like a red carpet is rolled out for them upon arrival. It's bloody weird.

It says the figures are from The Center for Immigration Studies.

So, why the mixup between illegal and legal?

Illegal immigrants rarely file taxes or apply for welfare, afraid they will be discovered and deported..

They usually (assuming it's not a cash paid job) pay taxes, cause companies auto deduct, but then never file a return.. So never get a refund.

Look at your source....

Birthright citizenship shouldn't exist in our country. We are behind the world in that matter, well that among other issues, but that is a big one.

It's from a conservative Christian conspiracy site, not an actual news source..

Yeah.
Stupid Constitution.
We need a new one. Now that all the right people are here, we need to stop any new ones from coming in.

No, not that, just close the loophole that makes new ones because of a clause. A clause that only 2 western nations still have.

Too bad the Indians didn't think of that lol!

So does that make all the Europeans illigal? If birth right citizenship doesn't count, and all of our fore fathers used that as a claim for citizenship, does that invalidate everyone not Native American??

Oh no, we should start the timer when it best serves the OP's author specifically....

Right. Now that we have all the foreigners we need. Lucky for us, huh?

Sorry, one thing we don't need is more laws. We have enough of them that don't work already.

Again, no.

It's not a new law, simply a modification to the existing one.

If one or more of your parents illegally reside in the USA, you do not qualify for birthright citizenship.

Simple change to an existing law that would really resolve a lot.

Honestly though, it really is too late for that.

So you openly admit that if something isn't done now, Americans as we know them will be borderline extinct in 150 years?

After all, you are comparing the current invasion of America to the colonization of the "new world", so I assume you have taken that to it inevitable conclusion as well.

Or was the "native America" thing a silly emotional attack. Sort of a we were here first, nah na hah na boo boo, type thing?

No.
Changing the Constitution is not a simple matter. Nor should it be.

It's absurd but it'll get tea partiers and right wing nuts all riled up. Poor victims of Obama. I remember when I was a kid the talk was about people buying Cadillacs with their food stamps. Are people really that stupid? I remember my mother telling me that every immigrant gets a free house and a free business upon arrival. She really believed that. Why does the right always lie to defend their positions. That tells me something right away.

Surely anyone identified as illegal should be arrested and deported. Or at the very least held in detention so they won't get welfare and thus how can they be included in the figures?

This sounds suspiciously like the BS foaming at the mouth anti immigration distortions we get over here. As soon as you show the true figures then there's howls of "it's lies", "conspiracy" etc followed by a lorry load of anecdotes about the immigrants stealing babies , jobs, cars , welfare and way of life.

To be honest I find this exceptionally amusing when it comes from the USA where absolutely everyone except an Indian is an immigrant or descendant of a recent immigrant. Just like Australia which seems to have a similar rabid anti immigrant narrative.
