Hey if you walk down the road in a pink feather boa even though you are a 200lb man with a beard, expect to be laughed at. Lets be real.

And that's true. But, that's not what this is about, and you know it.

This thread sure made me more aware of conservaphobia.

See, my secret motivation for this thread was not to provide some subject matter and positive world progress, but to piss off the insufferable bigots that have been squatting on this forum for some time now.

You forget that that's where we're at now. Support for something now equals hate - which gives a different kind of SJW something to be all crybaby about...the dregs keep floating to the top

You know what I love about you Buzzy? You are not a cynic

Nice thread

:-)

I've read through the thread an I see a common theme.

Who cares, it's dumb...there is a day for everything.

I wonder if they feel the same on the 4th of July. How about Veterans Day?

While I agree that the symbology serves no purpose to someone such as myself, I can see why certain days mean quite a bit to certain people.

Veteran's Day means a lot to vets and their families. International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia may mean a lot to gay and trans people.

I say let them have their day. It doesn't hurt anyone.

While I fully agree that EVERYONE has the right to be happy, it's kind of ironic that the people promoting all this "equality" need to be reminded that in this big world, there are some who would rather not have this lifestyle thrown in their faces. They might prefer that you keep your sexuality to yourself as they do from you. But I suppose that's just not PC these days.

What world are you living in?

I have all kinds of lifestyles thrown in my face every day...

Why such a princess?

I have a problem with the OP going all victim and getting upset someone had the gall to question her. Very low energy. Very rude.

Ha Ha very funny.

What the hell are you talking about!???

I posted that it was some sort of International recognition day. I thought it might be a worthwhile thing to point out on ATS.
I'm not gay, so I'm not a "victim."

WTH??????????

Low energy and rude?

THere is no question that it is "International Day Against....". That is not debatable.
I "went all victim" by asking people to discuss using decorum? That is preposterous.

They didn't, in any case....so - then ...what would you have me do?????

Who cares? Let them have the entire year for all I care. If it means something to them and it doesn't affect our day-to-day, it shouldn't matter.

Maybe they just don't care to be reminded of every bodies preference on things. It's not supposed to be a big deal so why make it a big deal.

Personally I just stay in my own lane on these things. I don't understand the compulsion to make everyone aware of my personal preferences on anything. I like red wine but I'm not gonna make sure all yall know it and recognize it. I will of course offer you a glass if you drop by the house.

Agreed.
Seems a lot of folk seem to be so affected by a social demographic wishing to highlight the real suffering some endure.
Strange how anyone could take issue with that.

I just re-read this thread here - and just wanted to point out that someone could very well have posted a rant titled:
International Day to Talk About Kim Kardashian!!!!

And I would probably have been enraged enough to comment on it that people who care about Kim Kardashian (which I totally don't, and who irritates me) should just shut the hell up.

I wonder how many of you will get the reference.
