I realize this is a foreign concept to you and the the Duke, but it's called personal responsibility. He made a change, and that change was exploited. No, he didn't do it on purpose, and that wasn't his intention, but there just doesn't seem to be a republican to blame this on. I'm afraid the fault lies with the guy who made the change. Maybe one day, this will all make sense.

You want to talk about personal responsibility and then not blame the people that decided to break the law?
Yes that is a foreign concept to me.

I'm a little curious as to how street vendors in a flea market have access to scanning EBT cards and getting approvals for the sales....

Every similar system used by stores and such here requires either a dial-up or similar connection to the network.

My guess is those card scanners like they have for iphones, and Ipads.

A privatized version of farm subsidies? That's all SNAP is, and that's why it continues to get funding. It has nothing to do with humanitarian or social reasons, it exists 100% because it's a way to give the agriculture industry money without it looking like pandering.

The reason food stamps and SNAP exist is because politicians of the 'liberal' kind use it to buy their voters.

Then use it to keep them voting for them saying 'someone else' wants to take it away.

So True fact it has nothing to do with humanitarian or social reasons, and THAT is the only reason it exists.

well..... there is the fact that it keeps all those low paid wal mart workers fed and happy, and helps their customers by the goods!!!
but na, it's just all pandering for votes!!

still would like to see them drop all these programs, just like the conservatives claim they want. I'm afraid that I really ain't that great a person, I would find the chaos that resulted to be oh so entertaining...

I blame the banks.
The banks were only following policies Clinton and friends put into place.

So who was really responsible?

Banks get their money from the federal reserve.

The government created the federal reserve.

The government created Fanny and Freddy.

The politicians supposedly regulated the industry.

Basically the 'bailouts' was the STATE bailing out ITSELF.

LOL, you think the guys at the bottom didn't get in trouble? I bet they just walked away. I guess this is the level I should have expected with this. I'll have to remember this conversation the next time a republican is blamed for a bad decision. But somehow, I doubt the memory will be very clear at all.

a reply to: Sremmos80 The article clearly states how, he expanded it and allowed FLEA MARKETS to sell goods using an EBT. The 2 words FLEA MARKET should be a wtf to anyone. Maybe pawn shops next ? About four years ago I lost my job and got an EBT, they gave me WAY too much money on it and when I got a job it was hard to cancel it and the whole time I could have kept it and no one would have said anything. People already abuse the cards, lots of people have them, buy goods and sell them, even sell the goods in stores that they bought at Sams with the card so fraud is nothing new. Has Obama done anything about the fraud ? or is it all about transgender restrooms and protecting the innocent peaceful Islam that doesn't mass murder people every two months ?

You are the one making this political not me. Just saying that since obama expanded the program it is not his fault people decided to break the law. Are you going to blame the legislature in the recent state that allows concealed carry with no permit or training when people use that to break the law? Or is it going the be the blame of the people who broke the actual law.

Except for them arresting and charging these guys? Sorry they don't have a 100% fraud protection. Guess the cops aren't trying very hard either since there is still crime.

No the reason for FS is to prevent riots.

Don't mess with the food, cheap gas, water or entertainment. That will cause a riot.

The elite are pretty smart at pacifying the masses. Bread(cheap GM fast food, high fructose corn syrup, cheap gas, cheap beer, not cheap but addictive cigarettes) and Circus(Celebrities, Football,corporate/MIC influenced news, free/cheap porn, reality TV, facebook, twitter, instagram, snapchat).

What group is using FS the most?

So it is somehow Obama's fault that people are abusing a system?
Ya, never happened before Obama, you are right.

If gun manufacturers can be sued under the presumption they are somehow responsible for the actions of an individual with their weapons, why can't Obama be held responsible for the abuse of policy enacted during his tenure and the actions of others?

I have only ever seen 2 types of food stamp people: The ones who need every last cent and eat it all up and wish they had more for them and their famliy and yep: Druggies who apparantly never eat and sell their food stamps even for .50 cents on the dollar. They'll gladly trade $300 in food stamps for $150 in cash. And unlike this article, you don't have to predate on the poor. They will come and bug you and try and get you to take them to the store and do the trade. It's really gross. But how can Obummer or whoever is next figure out who really needs it and who's the got dang bumbs?

They can't be, sure people have tried, but it has always been thrown out.

And maybe you can answer how he was personally responsible for this abuse, what did he change that made them able to do this that they were not able to previously?

During his reign of mediocraty there are now 47 Million people on food stamps. Increasing by over 45% in one presidential term. But he's great right? He brought hope for the next presidency and I think we all believe in change to his illegal executive orders. www.washingtontimes.com...
That’s rich: Poverty level under Obama breaks 50-year record the article is called

Meanwhile Verizon got a tax refund of 732 million dollars in 2015.

Absolutely punish the people abusing the new program but that program is a good one. It's critically important to get fresh food to impoverished areas and make that fresh food purchasable with food stamps.

Ya it is. But we'd have to actually pay someone to sit there and make sure they ate it or they won't. Or we just give them food instead of a pre-paid scammable card. And I'm a poor person sometimes on food stamps. The drug abusers who just want $ are going to kill the program for all of us who need food.

There is a reason low income people are low income, many don't make good decisions.
In this case they were tempted by quick cash to buy drugs and they caved.

Michelle had a good idea to help support and stimulate local farms and provide fresh produce to the poor.
Corrupt middle men at the flea market took advantage of the situation (which was predictable).

When Trump gets in office maybe he will employ our troops delivering MRE's at gun point to the needy?
