You have this issue backwards. Transgender people look like the opposite sex. The law you support would actually promote people who look like men walking into the women's restroom.

Also, come to Los Angeles some time and I'll take you to WEHO, NOHO, Vine street, Sunset at night...and we'll see how many "Trannies" we can spot.

Hint : There's a lot. And many are NOT feminine. They're on drugs. They have multiple mental issues. They're broke. And they aren't fully 'transitioned'

Cross dressers and Drag Queens are not transgenders.

Gender Dysphoria is recognized as a medical condition. Not an act.

Wait. So it's either a medical condition (and therefore could fall under mental illness), or it's what they've always been since birth. Which is it Annee?

Gender is in the brain. The brain tells you who you are. Sometimes the brain and physical packaging don't match.

Gender Dysphoria is listed on purpose as a medical/mental condition specifically so that insurance will cover the needs to transition (if so desired).

Gender is biological. A chemical imbalance is whats telling someone they feel different.

Gender is in the brain. It is how the brain is wired. Not likely a chemical imbalance.

Sex, your sex organs are your physical parts.

Can you prove that it's not?

I go by what the professionals specializing in transgender and transgenders themselves say.

Recently there was suggestion that transgender brains scans are different. But, I think that's newish - - so needs more time.

That's not what I asked, but ok.

They're just people.

As long as they don't hurt anyone, I don't care what they do, because it doesn't personally affect (or bother) me.

**If** I were one of these people getting his or her panties in a wad over this, I'd check myself, because it wouldn't be them having the problem, it would be *me* having the problem.

I might not like what someone does, but he/she has the right if it doesn't hurt anyone (the degrees and people's perception of hurt being another issue in itself).

If they're not hurting you, ACCEPT them.

I thought what Gavin Mcinnes said on the topic was both funny and correct.

"Transgender isn't a thing. You can't go out and become a bat or go out and become a giraffe. It's not something you can go buy off a shelf."

What you can do is alter yourself biologically to an extent but mother nature always wins and mother nature decided whether you were going to be a male or female. There's no changing that. Essentially, there's far more what makes a male biologically than whether you remove the penis and get breast implants.

It's basically window dressing.

Exactly.

It will also be quite some time before science finds a way to give working reproductive organs..

Can't alter science right now when it gets down to the molecular level and everything biologically which goes into the differences between sexes.

But take humans out of it for a minute, if I have my dog undergo an operation and removes his sexual organs, then put him on estrogen pills, does that make him a female dog?

No. Not even close. It makes him a science project and me an asshole.

Some are attempting to turn gender into a declaration. You can't declare you're a female when you've got a sausage swinging between your legs. Well you can, but it's not much different than declaring you're a hippopotamus.

We've had transgender people using bathrooms without anyone noticing for years. And we do work and take care of families. Try again.

You aren't very good at reading are you? I believe I mentioned that bit ... what do you think that part about "the old way" meant. It was precisely my point. There are two transgenders in those photos, but because they look the part, you apparently missed my point entirely or something.

... or you just didn't bother to read.

I dunno.

They're very close to an artificial womb.

Somehow I don't think a Transgender will want something artificial inside them..

haha sorry a bit off topic here, but i was just thinking that if Bernie Sanders Identified as Gay/Trans/mishmash he'd probably beat Hillary Clinton hands down using the excuse that 'he's Special and how dareth she insult my new name tag'.

cough cough choke... sorry when i think about anything i usually spontaneously visualise these cartoon images drifting through my thoughts.

I need someone to invent a time machine so I can go back to the 1980s, where I belong.

This has gotten out of hand.

I don't need a time machine. I just want an isolation bubble that cuts me off from general society.

Actually that's in a way is the truth. This issue is way overblown by the far right. Much ado about nothing.

Overblown by the far Right??

The PRESIDENT....just made a sweeping Federal DIRECTIVE without any discussion or debate, over States, and people that pay taxes for those schools.

You indirectly implied that liberals don't work and don't take care of their families. Or am I mistaken? I've read enough of your posts in the past to know what you believe.

New Zealand school installs bathroom for transgender student - aged 6.

This just came out an hour or so ago in my neck of the woods. It appears that the Kiwis have transitioned past the debate and have found a seemingly amicable solution.

You'll have to read the full article to see how they are dealing with this subject, but here's the last part....

A research project in America in 2014 stated children become aware of their gender identity by age 3 to 5, and a report in the UK yesterday said children as young as 3 were being treated at gender transition clinics.

Matthews said the dilemma of which bathroom to use was huge for transgender children.

An increasing number of parents were seeking support and advice for their young transgender children, Matthews said. He fielded about two calls a month from parents struggling because their school wasn't supportive. Issues included gender-specific uniforms or teachers unsupportive with name changes.

"Some children leave that school and start at a new school with their preferred identity, especially if the previous school is not supportive."

Katrina Casey from the Ministry of Education said unisex bathrooms were becoming common at schools and there were no separate boys and girls toilets in new builds.

"Our standard design is for individual self-contained bathrooms that can be used by either gender," she said.

Casey said unisex toilets made good sense as "they're versatile."

Last year the ministry revised sexuality education guidelines which included the suggestion of gender-neutral uniforms and a review of toilet spaces.

Earlier this year, two Wellington secondary schools decided to fit gender-neutral bathrooms for students who felt uncomfortable using "male" or "female" bathrooms.

Wellington High School has already transformed its boys' bathroom into gender-neutral facilities and Onslow College is about to do the same, spending thousands of dollars to convert an old block of girls' toilets.

Really sad that you have come to this point when it was never a problem in the first place.

When did the minorities of this country, and I mean EXTREME minority of this country overpower the majorities?

Huh? Few points here:

1. The majority of Americans probably don't agree with you. Not that it matters because:

2. We have representative democracy here, not direct democracy by majority rule and a majority of voters elected Barack Obama twice — 52.93% in 2008 and 51.06% in 2012 — though that doesn't actually matter either as it's the electoral college that counts. While on the topic of popular votes and the electoral college, how upset were you about the will of the majority when Al Gore won the popular vote but lost the electoral vote because of the GOP shenanigans in Florida?

3. Here is the most important thing. Are you familiar with the concept of individual liberty? When it comes to your fundamental rights as a human being and as a citizen of this great nation (and it is a great nation despite what whiny American-hating "conservatives" say), those should always be protected and not subject to the whim of the majority. Do you think a majority of the same regressive, ignorant, bigoted North Carolinians and Mississippians wanted to put an end to Jim Crow laws? How about this: What would the average "conservative's" position be if 51% of American voters decided they wanted to ban and confiscate all firearms?

I'm sorry but your argument fails on multiple levels.

Actually I'm not sorry.

THERE IS NO MORE FREEDOM IN THIS COUNTRY

There is more freedom in this country than there ever was. We have far more freedom of speech than ever existed before recent decades. Do you know who you can thank for that? Not the astute voting of well informed Americans. It was the cases of pornographers, birth control advocates and communists that were heard by the SCOTUS and that led to landmark rulings.

Our country is nearly two and a half centuries old now. For the better part of the first two centuries, nearly all of the black people in this country where enslaved or later, relegated to second class citizen status — by law — and in either case, disenfranchised. Speaking of which, a hundred years ago, the women's suffrage movement was still not finished their decades long struggle to enfranchise women.

Let's not forget same sex marriage. That's got to be the biggest expansion of liberty in this country in the two generations since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 were signed into law.

It's obvious that you're utterly unaware of the fact but we're actually living in the freest American society ever and this was accomplished by truly liberal, truly progressive movements that struggled against the ignorant, regressive tendencies of "conservatism" and forced its adherents to accept change that they were otherwise unwilling/incapable of embracing.

They made a choice to hold on to the past and what was right than to bow down to the needs of the very few and now they are punished for it. It's the typical school bully scenario.

As for companies and celebrities that are boycotting states. That's not bullying, that's boycotting and you can bet that they wouldn't be doing it if they didn't think there was profit to be made on the back end. That should tell you something — clearly these companies see that opposition to these ridiculous laws and the regressive ideology behind them is far greater than the support among the average consumer.
