True, and any hospital not already performing these operations by the specialized surgeons won't be mandated to do them because they don't have the specialized surgeons, staff, equipment, infrastructure, to actually do them.

Yes , when you have a "tummy tuck" who do you go to ? A specialist. And they are performed at private clinics. (please dont ask me how i know...

And hospitals that actually do perform those procedures should do so without bias.

Free market. If people can pay for it, and the hospital can do it, then there shouldn't be a reason why it shouldn't be done.

And you are correct. The ones that CHOOSE to do so. Not under threat by a so-called president overstepping his bounds yet again. I am slowly starting to think this one falls under the very definition of the term tyrant.

The government and a president threatening it's populace for ANY reason is tyrannical. Those that don't see that are delusional.

When do the thought police arrive?

Funny, that; it was around the same time the pilgrims did, lest we forget our history.

I have a question:

So basically any and every hospital then because any place that takes an Obamacare policy more or less accepts federal funds in one form or another. After all, lots of those have been subsidized. And those subsidies are federal funds.

This is why you never allow government to take over 6% of your economy that dictates what you can and cannot do with your health.

Good for them.

If a hospital is going to provide services for all people. They should be able to provide services for all people.

The hospital has a choice, though. Don't take federal funds if they do not want to provide those services.

Couldn't agree more.

This is a Human policy. It may be forcing and coersive, but ultimately is being implemented as a representation of ALL citizens, not just some of them.

For the people, means ALL of the people, regardless of gender and or gender identity.

The use of the phrase 'federal funds' is misleading to suit the story. The 'funds' are reimbursement of services rendered to patients with Medicaid and Medicare and obamacare. The government forces them to accept those forms of insurance and then pays the hospital through those same programs with your tax money. It's forced compliance. There are no 'federal funds' just going to hospitals for no reason.

So hospitals either stop accepting such things or they have to comply? Or we have a whole new round of lawsuits on the horizon or Congress grows some balls finally and challenges the Executive on this.

Not in a country where you are considered to not be deserving of the same rights afforded to others, simply because the majority doesn't like 'different'.

A different citizen is still a citizen regardless...and if your society has to be forced to acknowledge them as such, so be it.

Ok comrade

So who decides what is in the best interest of the whole country? The guy in the chair in washington?

What's next? He gonna mandate that all hospitals treat animals if the vets are busy because animals need medical care too?

It's not the rule that's bothersome to people so don't cloak this in a trans argument. It's the act of mandating things like God on a populace because he says so. If you can't see the distinction then that's your issue.

Oh grow up...yours is supposed to be the land of the free..at least that's what you've been bleating on about for decades.

Highest prison population suggests otherwise, couple that with your failure to acknowledge that people who choose to live their lives in a differnt way to what you consider to be the right way, also suggests you're all hot air about freedom.

Hypocrite comes to mind.

I'd rather be labelled a communist than a fascist any day of the week..but in actuality i'm all about Humanism and treating people with the respect they actually deserve and are guaranteed under the US constitution, not what people like you think they deserve based on your own discriminatory, probably religious based points of view.

Never once said that medical care shouldn't be equal for all. Not once. Your strawmaning me and its weak. My whole point is the use of 1 man's perceived power to dictate terms to a populace for ANY reason.

Mandating anything without the country voting/passing a law/Supreme Court ruling is dictatorial.

Medical care is not a right either.
If you want it to be then start a movement to amend the bill of rights to include it like a democracy does, not get ObamaCzar to just make it so.

How can it be the land of the free if everything is mandated?

Maybe you and I have a different idea of what free means? You think it means you don't have to pay for it and I think it means I get to make a choice about it.

Specifically, the topic of this thread mate...essentially making it illegal for Hospitals and healthcare centres to refuse to treat citizens, who are acting within the legal framework of the US, in other words, refusing people the right to medical treatment, that they have themselves paid into via insurances and taxes, based on predudice and religious bias.

If the law of the land says abortion is a legal medical procedure, then hospitals, who recieve federal funds are obliged to provide those services, similarly the thread titled services to those citizens who are gender transitioning and so on.

In other words, the prevailing religious / political beliefs of a medical institution are irrelevant if they hold their hands out for federal cash...they cannot pick and choose which citizens to treat based solely on religious or a political difference of opinion.

The simple answer is to get all the religious nuts together, dig deep into their pockets and privately fund their own backward thinking, fascist medical centres...that way they can refuse all different citizens they like...until then, they have to follow the law and lump it.
