Nope. GOP believes (rightly) that communism causes bread lines and worse.

They have no operational data for that belief.

The world has never seen true communism. Russia? China? Cuba? None of those countries were/are really communist. It's disingenuous to claim that they were.

Only because it is disingenuous to presume textbook communism is possible to exist outside of a textbook. The human factor, which cannot be mitigated... laziness, self interests, personal work ethic, humanity itself all make pure communism an impossibility. Humans are not hive creatures... we have our own motivations and our own goals and to presume it is even possible to eliminate those to a degree where textbook communism can function is disingenuous.

Thus, we're left with only real world examples of communism and the laundry list of reasons it fails as a workable solution.

This just needed to be repeated!

Humans are all individuals, not slaves. What sets us apart from ants and bees, is that we seek freedom to be ourselves and choose not to be dictated to. If you want communism style of government...it will not happen. We are not insects.

I will give up and agree we are mammals...nature does not show any hive activity in mammalian kingdom. I have enough sense to respect my own species over a bug that gets swatted!

So funny to read these threads and remember the times I was an uber Liberal/Anarchist/Get the man/feel good/everyone deserves money/we're all special....kinda guy.

The clarity that age brings, sometimes. It's like a calming Zen of it's own.

Thank Zeus for DATA...thank you!

So you made a thread using a video with 1 sentence taken out of context. Took that 1 sentence which only stated that it's wrong to not provide bread lines to the poor. Then evaluated what he'd do as president off that 1 sentence. Yea, can I have my few seconds back in life I just wasted? Seriously, people against Bernie have to start reevaluating their thought process.

Do you really think he's gonna walk on the congress floor drop his tax proposals and call it done?

Have you evaluated his past? Reason I ask is because he's the only one consistent for being behind the people his entire time as a politician.

Does he have the greatest plans for the country? I don't think so, but I also think through things with a rational thought process and realize that he does actually mean well. All the other candidates seem like scumbags ready to plunder the country as soon as they're elected. At least he cares about the well being of his fellow Americans.

Don't even bother answering the questions. I already know what I'm gonna get as a reply based on this thread already.

I'm absolutely fine with helping people who ned help. I'd much rather a few jerks sneak through the cracks than see anyone hungry.

Point is, and apparently I didn't make this clear enough, Sanders policies would cause ACTUAL breadlines, and communism always ends up with the people in power getting the food while the rest starve.

No, I think you made the point very clear.

The problem is that so many people are stupid. This is proven by the fact that one of the richest and most educated states in The Union has elected an ineffective commie as senator for decades.

Now, due to some ungodly PR campaign, every young dumb@$$ in the nation worships the simp like he is the second coming of Elvis. Ask them why and prepare for the hilarity.

Funny thing, communism.

It's fine and all to believe in whatever you want.

But disagree and I think you see how people really are.

The adherents for socialism, communism tend to get upset when you criticize their ideal ideology.

People don't like my ideology? I say, "Ok." Not really a lot of drama there. If you don't like it, you don't like it.

But say you hate socialism? Communism? Whoo-whee! THAT'S when the name calling starts and the . . . as the evil guy in Star Wars once said, "Hate flows. . . "

Friendly reminder Sanders is a democratic socialist who fights corruption.

Whatever. Democratic socialism is at the root of Fabian socialism -- the socialism of the Elite-elite.

The corrupt elite will profit so much (in power & money) when Congress spends money under a Bernie administration.

Bernie isn't about fighting corruption. He's about higher taxes. And even if those taxes come largely from the wealthy, the wealthy will still profit through government spending and make up any tax-losses many times over.

As long as Congress is in the picture, then a bigger spending plan is designed to steal from the poor & middle class and give to the rich.

What you are saying makes no sense. They already have the cash cow in the Military Industrial Complex. That cash cow is very effective in separating tax payers from their money. Why would they give up on the cash cow that is working to implement a cash cow that might work?

Bernie is against interventionism in most cases..so in effect he is trying to slay the cash cow called the military industrial complex but you claim that it is intentionally done by the people in power as ploy to get our cash (that they are already getting).

Am I not following you correctly here?

Scary.

His praise of Castro is disturbing, his honeymoon in the USSR was disturbing, this comment is disturbing.

Luckily he's been eliminated as a candidate, but I hope in the future people will look into a candidate past more. I hope those of you who lean left look into Hillary more. She's a different kind of villain.

This 12 second clip actually makes me believe even more that he is the only candidate worth voting for this election.

What's wrong with providing breadlines for the poor?
Let me guess. "Darwin"?

The problem is socialist policies cause breadlines.

We ended breadlines with food stamps.

We have no use for breadlines to feed the masses. Unlike communist and socialist utopias.

Food stamps are socialism and also a form of breadlines.

Besides, if Sander's policies are so flawed and capitalism is actually superior over socialism, then how come the 10 most happiest countries in the world have adopted all the same socialist policies that Sanders promotes?

Worlds happiest countries

The US with all its wealth and extreme from of capitalism, doesn't even make the top 10.

And every....single....one....of those countries.....are CAPITALIST

Did you mean to say, every single one of those countries are capitalist countries that have adopted Sanders socialist policies?

Hmmmm....

Name them then....

Go!

Universal healthcare
Livable wage
Closing the gap on wealth inequality
Racial justice

That's odd. The Catholic church down the road from me feeds the poor every Tuesday and Saturday with soups and bread rolls.

Does that mean Catholics support bread lines and Communism, or do they believe in helping those in need?

Context is key.

That Catholic church is helping people in need sure.

Socialism is just helping the people that it placed in need.

Universal Healthcare....the ONE

"Livable Wage"? Based on a whole LOT of CAPITALISM and private sector growth. Especially Denmark, Sweden, Norway. Very wealthy nations with low cost, sparse population, no Illegal Immigration in high numbers (Save Sweden in some part), independent, intelligent....and industries that PAY.

"Closing Gap On Wealth inequality" = Sanders cannot do it with a pen, and he would be up against an entrie Republican Congress that already thinks he's nuts, even many Dems do,

"Racial Justice"? That term has ZERO value in the real world

Character Assassination would be me making fun of his speaking, or hair, or how nice he is or his personality.

This is a man that didn't work until his 40s. And wants to be President. That's something you and I put on RESUMES

The 'cash cow' you speak of is just one of many cash cows. THAT particular cash cow is set with the War on Terror that can be led anywhere and go on perpetually thanks to our intelligence organizations. Do you think Bernie is going to end the War on Terror or be led by it? The Military Industrial Complex doesn't need a warmonger conservative to make money from foreign conflict. They took care of that problem by declaring a 'War on Terror.'

And besides there are other cash cows to profit from. Domestic spending is a HUGE cash cow.

You need to think beyond ONE money-making scheme. The elite sure are.

He's saying Breadlines are better than simply letting people starve to death. But this is a bad thing to you because you obviously prefer people to starve to death.

That's what you're saying.
