I'm glad you posted these video's (I've only watched the first one so far) but they prove my point better than my words have. You're replacing those children with these ones:
Muslim indoctrination

And these ones:

I just watched the second video and it sums you up very nicely. One sided, dismissive, belittling, and lacking any perspective. It is simple propaganda with which you agree. Very illuminating indeed.

whoa dude. you are either A) trolling, or B) in need of mental health care.

I suspect A.

For the benefit of those unable to watch videos:
the first one is clips from a brainwashing camp (kids out in the middle of nowhere, totally vulnerable) for "Jesus warriors."
That camp has since been shut down.

The second video shows how from the cradle, babies are taught to fear hell, believe they are guilty and worthless, and then grow up to teach their own kids that.

It's tragic.

You know what? I've seen "muslim indoctrination" vids too! The little kids in camo and rolling under razor wire, declaring how they are going to kill "Jews" (those are the kids that Hamas is producing)....is that the one you tried to link?

Seen it.

The Jesus Camp kids are just the same; emotionally traumatized. And dude, if you can't see that, you truly and really are batcrap crazy. Just like Hamas, and Israel, and ISIS, and the Taliban, and Al-Qaeda....just like the nutters (Alex Jones, Glenn Beck, Ken Hamm. Pat Robertson, Ted Cruz, Michelle Palin, Sam Brownback, et al) on the MSM......you are exactly like they are. WOWza!

All I can really say is:

"Well done."

?? I guess.
??

Utterly repellent.

But see, you don't get that.

More accurately: the second video shows what an atheist thinks Christians teach their kids, brought to you by thethinkingatheist.com So you know it's not biased. But rather than attack just the source let me rebut some of the meat of that video:

First, Many christian sects do not teach much about hell. In fact, many teach that very few will go to hell since you have to have a perfect knowledge of christ then deny him to get sent to hell.
Second, many sects do not teach that we are responsible for adams fall, but rather our own shortcomings.
Third, most, if not the vast majority, do not teach that we are today responsible for the death of christ and must ask for forgiveness.
Finally, the rest is simply a full on attack on faith, nothing eloquent or subliminal about it. Just flat out attack mode.

But what I'm interested in, Buzzy, is how my showing muslim indoctrination videos is trolling but your showing christian indoctrination videos is not?

Will I get a response to the content of any of my post or simply more personal attacks? Likely the latter, but I hope for the former.

you cannot, with any sort of cognitive clarity, tell me that those Jesus Camp kids are not being abused.

Really?

REALLY?
And you lot wonder why so many believe your ideas are pure rubbish??

You're no different from those guys! You're just as bad!!!

You really don't see that?

That's odd, because in all of that Jesus warriors video not once was killing non-believers or those of other religions brought up. The worst in that video was the cut where the leader had the kids say "this is war." Unfortunately it's just a cut so we don't get to see any context (is she talking about the ongoing spiritual battle? Is she talking about war of good and evil? Or is she talking about war against other religions?) I would imagine it's one of the first two since this video is made for purposes of making this camp look bad and if they could have had them saying they should kill others they'd have definitely put that in there.

See, you're missing the whole point of this entire thread. As bad as the Jesus Warriors were (and I agree, it was a crazy indoctrination session) it was childs play compared to what the muslim version is. Yet you put both on equal ground out of some misguided superiority complex. If you wanted to get rid of religion you're going about it all wrong. You get rid of the violent ones first, they don't listen to reason and aren't shamed into conforming to what you want. They'll flat out fight you for their religion. It's a bad strategy, even the wild leftist atheist bill maher recognizes this.

You have a very hard time separating advocating for the killing of people from some type of emotional abuse. I don't think it's a difficult concept, is it?

If I chop of your head I've caused you physical harm
If I give you a cut on the hand with a razor I've caused you physical harm.
Is there a difference buzzy?

The "worst" was saying "this is war"? That's it?

So - the weeping, debilitated, grieving, collapsed, miserable children who'd just been told they were scum had no reason to be crying? Being told they absolutely SUCK was not bad enough? You're insane if you think that is benign.

One would certainly hope that you see that it is the same thing.
Those kids are being emotionally abused. For that matter, so are you, by the preachers and the jihadists, and you are willfully doing the same damage to your unfortunate children.

Not hard at all to see that the kids are just as harmed, whichever 'training camp' they attend.

That is so utterly ridiculous it belongs on the inside of the lid of a Pokemon board game.

How old are you?

You honestly don't think that typing here in cyberspace that you 'can't wait' for people like me (and specifically: "me") to suffer torture and/or beheading at the hands of someone else is a strange thing?
You don't realize how it will prove to be a negative when your own day of reckoning arrives? Because you can't "take it back" now. No. It's a done thing. Truly, the Supreme Source won't give one sh!t about your 'worldly' self being somehow "immune" compared to your "Christian" self - nope. They are tandem right now, in this lifetime.

That dichotomy - that diametrically opposite behavior as contrasted to your self-righteous ranting ---- that will follow you to the grave and beyond.

Jeezy Kreezy, were you sent to one of those abominable camps?
Are you a contributor patron a la platinum level to the Zionist cause? Hagee? Is he your guy?

IDK, you pretty much did the same thing so....

Truly, the Supreme Source won't give one sh!t about your 'worldly' self being somehow "immune" compared to your "Christian" self - nope. They are tandem right now, in this lifetime."

I realize that it's one of my failings, yes. I've admitted that like four times on this thread alone. But should we rehash it again so you can avoid answering other questions?

"That dichotomy - that diametrically opposite behavior as contrasted to your self-righteous ranting ---- that will follow you to the grave and beyond."

You still don't understand Christianity.

"One would certainly hope that you see that it is the same thing."
So cutting your head off and cutting your finger with a razor is the same thing. I assumed you believed that, glad to have it in writing.

"Not hard at all to see that the kids are just as harmed, whichever 'training camp' they attend."
Yes, because we have christians running around our country beheading infidels in the name of god. It's completely the same. No difference whatsoever. You should probably be committed to a mental institution if you really believe your own insanity you've typed. And heaven forbid you are actually a social worker. Those poor children and families who have to deal with you. If you are a social worker you play the part well. I imagine it's the typical situation with you, where the kid chained in his bedroom, living in excrement, and given scraps is never removed from the home until all that remains is a corpse, but the kid who got a spanking once or grounded gets sent to the foster system and the parents charged with mental/physical child abuse.

You really have no perspective at all. Which is ironic because of your profile picture, that's how you live your life.

Yes, I do.
I was taught it as a baby - as a child - as a latent child - as an adolescent. I get it. I was taught it. Baptized as an infant - confirmed and married in the church. I get it.
I understand it.

Except I don't know if doing this is a custom of theirs, though

Really.

Nope, they are simply taught to love God. It's interesting that you put gays in with religious affiliations. But I do hope they hate homosexuality. I also hope they hate alcoholism, drug abuse, infidelity, and a whole host of other impulses and bad habits. I will have done an excellent job if they hate those things.

What sect of Christianity is this? I'm not an expert (or a Christian) but I have read the New Testament and really can't recall the part where Jesus wants us to instruct our children to hate.

Do you believe in a "day of reckoning"? What are you gonna say? "oh...that wasn't my Christian side, it was my worldly side, you know the one that looked forward to atheist people being beheaded sometimes"

Quite frankly, yes, that's exactly what will happen on the day of reckoning with everyone. No one is perfect that's where Christ's role is. Maybe you missed that part in your studies.

The Christianity I learned about was all forgiveness, love and peace. I really don't think Jesus taught people to hate ANY other religion (I could be wrong), or to teach children to hate. Nobody is perfect yes, but excusing your taking pleasure in thinking about people being killed by blaming your "worldly side" probably wouldn't fly with the Christianity I know.

There's not much one can do but laugh when you say your heart aches for the innocent babies...
Have you heard your opinions on abortion?

See, I understand why people are atheist. I sympathize with them. I totally get it. It's a position I respect, wrong as it may be in my view. I don't think they're all crazy, idiotic, absurd, abusing their children, etc. But just like there are crazy religious nutters, there are crazy atheists (typically anti-theists more than atheist). You fall in this category. You are so far in the opposite direction you could reach out and touch the religious nutters you so despise. So far in this thread you have misrepresented all Christians, wished for the death of all religious people, called me stupid, ignorant, poisonous, an abuser, an asshole, crazy, repellent, and that's just he ones I can remember.

And here's where we differ; I get why you are calling me all of those names and all of those things. I can see exactly why you would say them. You don't understand why I disagree with all of those things you're saying. You don't understand why I believe what I believe. I believe what I believe for good reasons, not the crazy ones you would likely try to ascribe should you attempt to understand where I'm coming from (or 90%+ of religious people).

Now let me show you what Christianity is all about: I forgive you for all of the rude and hurtful things you've said about me and the rest of my religious peers. I forgive you for misrepresenting large portions of the christian community. And I have to apologize to you and ask you for your forgiveness for the hurtful things I have said to you. You are attacking things that are sacred to me and my responses were not always kind despite my best efforts to keep them kind. Despite those efforts I failed. I hope that one day you will find it in your heart to forgive me being rude or callous toward you.

Have you heard your opinions on abortion?

I have not heard my opinions on abortion, as a matter of fact!
Have you? Care to share them with me?

To my knowledge, I have no current opinion about abortion, let alone one that I've shared on here. Or at least, if I have, I've forgotten what it was.

I do, however, have an opinion about what happens to those innocents once they are BORN BABIES - where in my experience the "Christians" who are militant pro-lifers don't give a rats shiny ass about what happens to them once they're born, and care even less about their mothers' needs. And teach their kids to hate people. Obvi. You'd just as soon they'd all starve (or die if they're not "Christians" like you). Wretched heathen breeders, right?
.....And, I'm not an atheist, so you've missed the mark on that one entirely as well. Perhaps you're thinking of some other poor, beleaguered social justice warrior you've been pissing on. Lord knows you lump them together. Yet you protest being "lumped in" with rabid Christian haters??
moving on......
Oh - you're all full of forgiveness and pleading it for yourself?
You're owning up to the browbeating you gave me? NOW? That it's over?
What, did you have a heart-to-heart with Jesus and he reminded you of a few things?

You'll forgive me, I hope - for taking that as nothing but self-serving lip service. You're just scared you'll go to hell....

at least you participated in a lively little "sketch" for the rest of the class. Well done.

Be nice to your kids. Don't teach them hatred.
And I'm not an atheist.

Let's just leave it at that. Your olive branch is made of plastic - and too little, too late is how I'd respond to your faux piety. Getting backed into a corner is never comfortable.
Good day to you, sir.

EDIT to add this article I saw this morning. It (sadly) reminded me of you and your lot:
Here you go:
History Shows the Religious Right's Batsh*T Crazy Version of Jesus Isn't Unique to Modern Times
So, you know - you could always just claim you 'come by it honest' - or just haven't yet evolved.
Stuck in the dark ages?

to understand some of the history of this type of intolerance wrapped in the cloak of righteousness, it’s necessary to step back in time. Say, for example, back to fifteenth century Italy.

In the 1420s, the religious showman who commanded crowds of thousands of believers was a preacher named Bernardino da Siena (1380-1444). (Siena was the place he was from, not his last name. Just as “Da Vinci” is not, as every six year-old should know, Leonardo’s last name.) Bernardino belonged to the Order of Friars Minor, known in the vernacular as the “Franciscans,” an order founded by St. Francis of Assisi, whose emphasis on poverty as a Godly virtue had presented a challenge to the Church during his lifetime. By the early fifteenth century, the Franciscans had evolved into various sects within the order, and Bernardino belonged to the “Observants,” meaning they were deadly serious about that whole austere lifestyle stuff.

Bernardino had lived a quiet life until sometime around 1420, when he felt a great calling to go out and explain to the masses how they could save their souls. Anthropologists and French feminist theorists have insightful ideas about notions of “pollution,” (the kind that happens to bodies, not the environmental kind), but suffice it to say, Bernardino was obsessed with the idea that the cities of the various Italian city-states (Italy as a nation didn’t exist until the 1870s) were polluted with sin. And God was pissed. Really pissed. “So-shall-I-destroy-the-cities-” kind of pissed.

So yeah - it runs in your blood, maybe even in your family. See if you can't help your kids clear that hurdle and let the familial hypocrisy and hatred wither and die with you....not that I hope that happens soon - kids need their dad. Just that as they grow, you become, well - nicer.

The reality is that the world does not care. I was crunched up enduring the unbearable pain of an upset stomach for hours today, but I didn't think once about going to the hospital - because I know that nobody in the world cares about me. The Master of Life knows that I would be real if I was unconditionally loved, but the way of society is, to fake it til you make it, if I was to be honest they wouldn't let me win. I knew it was going to hurt, but when you have nausea for 12 hours straight, not much can prepare for that. But there are too many hurting people for anyone to care about me.
