According to many of the Scriptures when Jesus took a stand even against great numbers opposed to him he had his way...
This is enough to imply he had a commanding presence both in great intelligence and wisdom but it also says he had a physically commanding presence also...
Jesus was not some wimpy little fellow too timid to stand up for himself or others...
No he had command over multitudes at times for teaching and he was brave enough to scold even the highest religious leaders of the time... Nor did he coward to the devil himself...
Get real Jesus was not push over...
When the time came for him to die for you his anguish was real and it too was great... In the garden as he prayed this angst caused him to suffer an actual human condition brought about by tremendous stress and fear... As he cried tears of blood and his sweat was of blood also...
He had the power then and there to give up and walk away from it all...
Instead he stood strong...
He rose up and picked up his cross and died for you!
There is none more powerful than the Lord...

AGREED.

However, the laws in our country allow for candid freedom of speech . . . commenting on such things . . . at least . . . for maybe a while longer.

NOPE

The two . . . presentations, manifestations of the Messiah are in the Old Testament. So distinct are they that some Jewish scholars trying to wrap their minds around the very different two descriptions . . . speculated that the OT was talking about two Messiahs--but that didn't make sense to them either so they really had no resolution to it.

1. FIRST--AS SUFFERING SERVANT/SACRIFICIAL LAMB

2. SECOND--AS CONQUERING KING, ROARING LION.

He came the first time precisely as predicted.

He WILL come the 2nd time also precisely as predicted.

Really?

Defending this teacher for saying that to her class?

And complaining it's PC stepping on her rights?

What else is it then?

This raises an interesting point.

Why are Moslems the only ones who take "God's words" literally?

Arent we told that all of the Books (OT and NT) are the words of God?

Because everyone else who follows a religion follows just that, a religion.

Islam and Sharia are really a combined political and religious ideology. It governs all ways of life. Therefor less room to compromise. Many apparently don't see the difference.

Trump can.

It's against the law not only to speak freely...
but to tell the truth?

The pen is mightier than the sword...and the truth can be more powerfully destructive than a nuke on steroids.

Well said...
Only the truth is strong enough to destroy a lie...
Jesus refered to himself as the Truth the Light and the Way...
So this too speaks of his power...

When Jesus comes back the mystery is over...
All will know who he is and not a knee will be left not bent...
But aside from those who had no opportunity to learn of him are not to be converted...
That's what the bible says anyway...

Everyone thinks Jesus will come back in their lifetime. It's been this way for over 1500 years.

That's funny I wonder why they think that?
Because Jesus said no man knows the hour...
But guess what else the bible says...
After you fade to black...
It will be as the twinkling of an eye to the dead as if only an instant had past when they meet him...

What troubles me more than your misguided opinions
Is that you...a moderator...
Are trying so hard to derail this thread...

Okie dokie.

I've already died before, so I already know what that's like.

EDIT: I'm not derailing anything, it's the Mudpit.

I saw a bunch of "Christians" not being very "Christ-like", so I decided to say something.

Whatever man wrote on the next line.

God didn't write the bible.

You are preaching to the choir for I have been pronounced dead...Not just been on the cusp...
And if you did not have all your fears and anxiety calmed by the presence than this is a clear indication of the path you have chosen...
For it is your choice alone...

Did I say God wrote the Bible?
You must also be confused...
Although Men wrote the bible it was God who inspired them...

Yeah, not scared of death. A painfully slow death would be unfortunate, but not what comes after that. I'll get to go home, that's pretty much it.

Well you must be a believer than...
Because I have spoke to groups and with many others who have died and not all experience the same things...
But there does only seem to be two experiences to be had...

The Bible is not a book for any other belief system...
Shall we derail this thread further and discuss other gods mentioned in the Bible?
Or shall we just follow his wish and have no other gods before him?
We are told this Tennant was in fact carved out by God himself...

Sounds amazing, where can I see this God-Made artifact or remnant?
Or is it just a story in a book?

I dunno first why don't you tell me if it's OK to lie steal murder commit adultery along with the rest...
But if you choose to look you can catch glimpses of him in others who do his will...
If the above things are not ok with you than they are truths and not just some story in a book...

Oh, you mean morals. I don't need a book telling me some guy in the sky is watching me to be a good person. Whether you believe it or not, people aren't just wild crazy animals. We are conscious, intelligent beings.

What you mentioned being "godly" is nothing more than common decency.

Since this is a thread about the indecencies of biblical figures, would you like to explain and make excuses for the old testament?
