Hope for the best with your socialist heart, but prepare for the worst with your capitalist mind.

I already do.

As long as we have generations of families unable to compete in a capitalist society, then capitalism, too, is doomed.

Just because I hate how the U.S. does socialism, it does not mean I believe we do capitalism any better.

Congrats to all you who kept me responding.
I now realize what a waste it has been.

Good night.

Take care.

See you on the flip side.

Is it just me, or are the biggest adherents of Socialism in America seem to be mostly privileged millennials who have never experienced real adversity and just want free stuff?

Or people that have some kind of government or government-related job?

In other words, a vested interest.

Considering Socialism is about big government taking control of everything in your life like a babysitter, I would say they have a vested interest like xuenchen pointed out.

Does welfare count as a government-related job? Since your essentially getting paychecks from the state to keep voting them back into power.

Democratic socialism is controlling the means of production.

Socialism is controlling the means of production.

Once you control the means of production, you initiate wage caps, you control salaries, because government is controlling the means of production.

Government will determine production and as a result, wages. Salaries are then not determined by the free market system but by government controlled production.

Government will determine your worth. Government will determine what you earn, what you keep, because government will control the means to production.

The free market currently controls the means of production. Needs, wants, control the means of production.

When government starts mandating production then prices become arbitrary. Worth is no longer what you can bring to the market. Worth is what government determines.

Hmmm, it would seem the definition of socialism is as different as the people that implement it.

You're really a funny guy, ha, ha, ha ,ha and another ha,ha, ha!

And our system of Global corporate rule is better how exactly?

The corps control everything including government in our current system in the US of A, thanks to our politicians signing trade agreements!

The definition of socialism and democratic socialism is controlling the means of production.

What did I miss?

Yeah, in four years these kids will have worked for a living and paid their own way, and then will realize that they are getting robbed from a large and out of control government.

The only answer is to give the government more of our money and power so they can fix it.

Makes sense, Socialists.

Pay for your own damn college.

Some facts that not many seem to pay attention to...

A lot of us want change.

Concerning Americas budget.
Concerning different pieces of legislation.
Concerning socialism or capitalism.
Concerning the one percent.
Concerning wars.

Nearly all of these, or anything that can be done about all of these, has more to do with Congress than anyone or anything else. The fact is the next person in the presidency is not just going to make our wishes come true, they can't, the very people that have stolen our freedom are still going to have the power.

Which is why I'm voting bernie sanders.

He's a movement, not just a man. It's the american people wanting change, standing up for it. We will not vote in a man who could implement a social political system which represents the highest quality of life in the world ( fact, by the way) and then sit on the sidelines and let Congress yank us around for another long time.

I do wish people would stop saying "well, if not bernie...", just because hes been gaining huge amounts of momentum, and doesn't seem an end to his momentum is in sight. I say bernie all the way. Even if it's a write in come election day - millions of people want him in, let's not distract ourselves with other possibilities when our main guy has every chance.

Are you a multi millionaire, making millions more all the time on the stock market, and making speculations on Wall Street?

Chances are very low.

You're not paying for anyone's college, stop complaining for others.

I admit, I don't know exactly how European countries and some others like Norway, Switzerland and the like work, but does their government really control the means of production?

If so, sounds like we shouldn't go that route.

If not, you need to update your outdated definition of socialism to include other models such as the ones I mention, as sanders intends to emulate Switzerland ( highest percentage of millionaires for the record.) and most of ats mean socialism as practiced in some of those countries

I'm a liberal Democrat myself and definitely go for trump over Hilary. I don't like the guy, but I also haven't seen him linked to many suspicious deaths, incompetent acts that ended lives, threatened national security, etc. He also doesn't give shady back room speeches for insane prices - what the hell is she promising them?

Trump is a loud narcissist that says things people don't like - pretty much politician material and par for the course, while hillary is an insane psychopath that might just kill to get her way..
