The new leaks name Israeli-U.S. media mogul Haim Saban and hedge fund manager Donald Sussman, who have contributed US$10 million to Clinton's campaign. Two of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's biggest backers are featured prominently in the International Consortium of Investigative Journalist's (ICIJ) records on offshore bank accounts, teleSUR has uncovered.
The billionaire Israeli-U.S. family, headed by media mogul Haim Saban, has contributed over US$6,000,000 to Clinton's campaign outright. Haim is known for using his vast wealth resulting from a long and illustrious career in the entertainment industry to fund pro-Israel candidates and organizations.
The hedge fund manager was also close to a Maine corruption scandal from 2012. An indictment named Maine's governor, several congressmen, and others as having given at least US$20 million in cash bribes to U.S. Department of Justice investigators and public officials for turning a blind eye to investigations in the U.S. Virigin Islands, where Sussman was a resident.
Sussman is no stranger to politicians. He married U.S. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, a representative of Maine's first district, in 2011. They are now separated, and plan to divorce soon.
