I think that personally, you need to accept your physical, tangible reality.
Who *you* are is who *you* are, but your body is the physical, tangible reality of your existence, and that will also be a part of you for the rest of
your days. To me, it's a fool's errand to try to force it to be what it demonstrably isn't. You need to find a way to come to peace with that, not
mutilate it or sicken it by forcing its systems to operate in ways they weren't naturally designed to. None of that will ultimately be good for you
whoever you actually are.
Trust me, I am in the process of watching both my parents deal with the onset of old age. You will see enough trouble in your later years without
adding to it by altering your physiology in ways it was never naturally intended to be altered, and I mean that in all ways. It doesn't matter how
advanced medical science is; it can't make you what you're not. So it's best to resort to it only in times of emergency need.
I also find it highly ironic that those who are often part of the "reality based community", who often call themselves atheists and shun God because
there's no tangible proof of his existence, and scoff at anyone and everyone who says they might be making a mistake to do what they're doing, are
also denying the tangible reality of their own physical bodies because they'd prefer them be other than they are. In fact, they *believe* they should
be other than they are, and in that, they are no different than those they despise.
