It sounds to me like....

You are uncomfortable with the idea that sometimes bad things happen and nothing good comes from it.

You are struggling with the concept that sometimes... justice eludes us. It is extremely hard to swallow, so in an attempt to soften the blow, you find yourself trying to justify evil. Because you can't stop these horrible things from happening you have now learned to say, "it was a blessing in disguise!" because at least then there's some semblance of justice and some kind of positive thing being born out of even the nastiest of all evils...

But that's all it is. You're just uncomfortable with the reality that sometimes bad things happen and you can't stop them from happening. Cause poison is poison. And justice continues to elude us. And it's true, we don't live in a disney world fairytale where good always prevails (lets face it, good doesn't always prevail) and we're surely not in Kansas anymore... it won't benefit any of us much longer to continue to deny these simple truths.

You don't need to justify evil.
You don't need to give it permission.
It's gonna be there no matter what you do.

Having to find excuses for God's misdeeds is a favourite pastime of the religious, but those who indulge in it will find it sets their own moral compasses out of kilter.

In my opinion God left Satan in charge of this world and the kingdoms of this world. Satan could not have offered Jesus the kingdoms of this world if Satan wasn't in control. God gave Satan some time to prove that Satan's way was not the best way for man. God is allowing Satan some more time because if God interfered, people could say, but things were working just fine until God interfered. Many people already realize this world is full of problems that are growing worse. Satan's way is not the best way but some still don't believe that.

I believe God won't ruin this proving ground with any major interference after mankind has already endured thousands of years of thinking that we can do things on our own without any divine assistance. Now if mankind is on the verge of destroying all life on this planet, I believe interference will come. To appear natural, God could send aliens or something else that looks natural, maybe a solar flare that destroys our weapons.

It's nice to know there is a hell. Cool thing is... bad people will keep being bad people.
Thus... God's delight it will be when they go straight to he'll.
The more they do... they better it will be.
I'm going there too... I once witnessed the tenets of true Christendom acted out by me.
Then God's grace descended on me. But... before it could consume me... it vanished.
It just left me there. So... I did it again. And again it came for me. But... left me there without a care. I since then decided... life is too short and much too precious to give it away on moral tenets that cost more than blood and life itself. More So... when God can't even find it in his heart to reward the fool. So... I'm done with religion and with people's nonsense. It is a lie!

I was having a discussion a few weeks back with a Muslim acquaintance of mine about our differing beliefs on whether God exists and if Free Will is real. He is not religious, but he is very observant. Anyway, he is of the opinion that God grants us Free Will. I brought up that if God is omniscient and omniscient, why do we have Free Will.

His answer was along the lines of "that's why there is a Heaven and A Hell. We can choose to love and obey God or we can choose to hate and disobey God." He is also of the opinion that circumstances such as wealth are determined before you are born, but you still maintain the ability to choose how you act.

While I was tempted to challenge him on these arguments because I felt his views were flawed, I decided it was not worth the effort. I did manage to take something away from our conversation though. He did bring up an interesting idea that I had not previously considered: those that are more tempted to do evil and refrain from doing it will achieve greater satisfaction in the afterlife compared with those who simply do good deeds for the sake of being good.

The content of your post puts a different twist on this age-old, often posted, ATS question. I agree with your assumption that our spirits are very old and constantly recycle.

However, I don't agree with the concept of moving up and down the animal kingdom ladder, based on the amount of love shown during a given life. How can a monkey be "promoted" up to being a human being due to its good deeds? Some would argue that reincarnating from Monkey to Human is not a promotion at all.

Here's my take.. Just the KNOWN Universe is so vast, that our spirit can incarnate into any intelligent being that God has created. There are likely millions of species in this Universe. Who knows what has been created on other planes of existence. Some of us to come back to Earth after living a life elsewhere. (The other lifespan could have been 5 years, or 500 years.) That's why we sometimes have past-life memories of Earth experiences as someone else.

This belief makes me really appreciate and love just the bit of God that can be comprehended. Sometimes I actually look forward to returning back "home" (heaven) for a time, before choosing the next vista to experience. I wish there was a religion that believed this way. I'd join it in a heartbeat.

I love your second gaint paragraph. You get the point about life's meaning. Yes we do evolve as a whole, and this 3rd dimension can be altered to the 4th, if and only we see life's "good and bad" "right or wrong" as a lesson to learn.

Maybe God can't be bothered by what happens or what we do or don't do. Do you care or would you even know if ants are murdering each other? Maybe God is a being that just spins out all of the endless possible scenarios each action or inaction could produce..in other words, bad things happen, because they can. And, if God is omniscient, and the Eden story were true, God already knew what would happen and set up the Fall of mankind to take place anyway. I'm just throwing these thoughts out there. I personally do believe in an Eternal creator and think we make a sort of contract before incarnating. Who really knows though, not me.
